Position Summary
A well-established farming company in Bakersfield is seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Accounting Specialist to support day-to-day accounting operations. This role is responsible for accounts payable and receivable, general ledger support, reconciliations, and ensuring accurate financial recordkeeping in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate is organized, analytical, and able to manage multiple priorities.
Key Responsibilities of the Accounting Specialist
Process vendor invoices, match purchase orders, and prepare payments
Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies
Generate and distribute customer invoices
Monitor receivables and follow up on outstanding balances
Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures
Prepare and post journal entries
Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts
Perform bank and credit card reconciliations
Maintain organized and accurate financial documentation
Qualifications of the Accounting Specialist
Required:
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience)
2+ years of accounting experience
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar ERP systems)
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
Excellent communication skills
High level of integrity and confidentiality
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
