Job Summary (basic description)

Jackson Lewis P.C. has an exciting opportunity for an Accounting Clerk to join our Finance team. The Accounting Clerk will be responsible for keeping accounting records updated, preparing reports, and reconciling bank statements. This position is located in the National Operations Center in West Harrison, NY and reports to the Accounting Manager.

Essential Functions

  • Assist in accounts payable duties including reviewing and processing vendor invoices, facilitating payments to vendors, and responding to vendor inquires.
  • Perform bank and general ledger reconciliations while resolving related discrepancies.
  • Assist with monthly close and fiscal & calendar year-ends.
  • Cash receipt processing.
  • Prepare client refunds.
  • Collaborate with internal accountants and prepare deliverables as needed.
  • Pull invoices for internal and external audits.
  • Complete special projects as advised by firm management.
  • Maintains customer confidence and protects operations by keeping financial information confidential.

Required Education, Experience and Skills

  • BA/BS Degree preferred but not required.
  • 1-2 years of accounts payable/finance experience.
  • Excel skills.
  • Advanced critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent reporting, time management, general math, and data entry management skills along with superior attention to detail.
  • Works effectively in a team environment.
  • Superior computer skills.
  • Ability to report research results accurately.  
  • Deadline-Oriented.

For West Harrison, NY, the expected salary range for this position is between 29.40 - 32.70. The 
actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted 
by law.
