Major Duties:

  • You will be responsible for administering the Marine Corps Manager's Internal Control Program.
  • You will represent the Marine Corps in internal control discussions with the Department of the Navy, Office of the Secretary of War, the Government Accountability Office, Legislative officials, and Major Marine Corps Commands.
  • You will have delegated authority to make decisions, subject to limited review on matters pertaining to accomplishment of mission assigned to the Internal Control function.
  • You will advise commanders on the adequacy of their financial and management control processes.
  • You will be responsible for sponsoring an annual Resource, Evaluation and Analysis (REA) conference of approximately 60 military and civilian REA's from major commands and field activities.
  • You will monitor, coordinate, provide technical support, and train REA offices at marine Corps field commands and managers REA functions at Headquarters.

Qualifications: In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Formulating, developing, and interpreting policies and procedures for a financial program; 2) developing changes or revisions, as necessary, to orders pertaining to a financial program; 3) conducting comprehensive analytical reviews and studies to make program policy, procedural, and system improvements; 4) developing and maintaining a central file of all submissions to support annual statement assurance; and 5) using automated systems including but not limited to MS Excel, Power BI, SQL, Python or Qlik Sense to perform various reviews and tasks related to accounting functions.
