We create and execute strategy, produce engaging content, improve the use of social media and can help you deliver against your wider business objectives. We build teams and select the best technology partners to improve the way digital is used to engage and inspire fans, build brand profile and generate revenue.
The IMG Digital team are looking for an Account Manager to react to the needs of the business and its clients, centrally the National Hockey League (NHL). The position will be wide-ranging and will include leading international content creation efforts across multiple markets and timezones, bringing a creative and positive approach to content, and be able to deliver on a daily basis.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
- A creative social superstar on the rise. Delivering creative content solutions daily throughout the year for day-to-day hockey actions, as well as major events such as NHL Global Series and the Stanley Cup Final
- With a clear social mindset, create content that perfectly aligns with the current social algorithms and delivers across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, X and WhatsApp
- On hand to react to daily action in the League, to deliver immediate ideas and briefs with assets turned around in under four hours
- Show leadership within a team to set the daily tone for content and standards, comfortable briefing internal and external creative teams
- Continuing to develop a successful, progressive, and pioneering connection with IMG staff, the NHL, and our wider creative community to deliver strong results season on season
- Presenting ideas and campaigns to clients of all levels of digital maturity; being involved in decision making for the NHL International project ranging from the treatment of major events to daily achievements and reactive elements
- Content plan ideation and creation, setting the tone for the NHL International project alongside the senior leadership of the project
- Writing client facing reports and presenting key findings to senior management (IMG and NHL)
- Understanding the latest digital trends, and reporting this back to the wider team and clients
- Clear finger on the pulse for creative trends and industry moves to ensure the NHL project remains at the forefront of innovation and delivering at the highest standard
- Working with all other personnel to develop and achieve the company’s overall strategic goals
- Being an ambassador for IMG, always maintaining a professional approach
- Other duties that are within the scope of the role may be required
Knowledge and Experience
- Social media manager background is an absolute – a complete understanding as to what works on social, how to run channels, and content that is thumb stopping and jaw dropping
- Extensive knowledge of hockey, particularly the NHL
- Professional hands-on experience in the two of the following areas:
- Digital content production
- Content, social media and platform strategy (design and/or implementation).
- 2-3 years experience of running social media channels (especially Instagram and TikTok)
- A solutions first mindset, able to tackle problems quickly with excellent planning and communication
- Content, marketing and social media (major platforms, across the full creative suite).
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal including strong presentation skills
- Advanced user of Microsoft Office, creating PowerPoint presentations and statistical manipulation in Excel
- Organised, calm under pressure and an ability to meet fixed deadlines (both internal and client)
- Proactive and able to react to the clients’ needs across European, Australian, and US timezones
- A commitment to continual professional development of oneself and others
- Significant digital experience with keen insight into best practice for businesses and brands.
- Understanding of marketing: research, campaign planning, audience segmentation, profiling and content targeting
- Experience leading parts, or all, of an organisation’s digital operations
- Digital strategy experience (setting and delivery)
- Experience using analytics and social publishing platforms (e.g. Meta Business Studio, TikTok, Sprinklr)
- Knowledge of Photoshop, Premiere Pro, CapCut
- A global perspective on content trends and audience behaviours
- Management of clients with successful results (not limited to hockey)
Skills and Abilities
- Solid experience in digital content, social media, marketing or commercial roles
- A keen understanding of digital technologies, social media platforms, websites, apps and content production
- Technically savvy and passionate about the latest digital trends and developments
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent client-facing skills or experience of working with a wide range of senior stakeholders within an organisation
- A passion for sport (especially hockey) and its ability to positively impact society
- Comfortable under pressure (presenting, running workshops, giving clients feedback etc.)
- Excellent administrative and organisational skills with the ability to prioritise, manage budgets and meet tight deadlines
- Demonstrable ability to learn new skills with a readiness to share those skills among other members of the team
- Strong initiative with a 'can do' attitude and willingness to be flexible in approach to achieve desired outcomes

Working Conditions
- This is a permanent position.
- This role will be based at Chiswick Park, with some flexibility on remote working as appropriate.
- Adapting to use of new systems and technology where appropriate.
- May be required to attend (and travel to) locations, including other IMG buildings and meetings.
- Unsocial hours may be required, as dictated by the demands of the business schedule
