Job Description
As an Account Manager you will manage a portfolio of strategic customers in the Food & Beverage and Life Sciences industries.
You will focus on 70% account farming developing long‑term partnerships and expanding existing business and 30% business development, identifying and securing new opportunities within target accounts and new customers.
You combine commercial experience with an understanding of industrial solutions, including automation, power, software, cybersecurity, and digital transformation.
You will be based in Belgium. You will report to Sales Manager.
Responsibilities - You will do:
Account Management (±70%)
- Be the primary contact for assigned strategic customers
- Develop long-term, trusted relationships at operational and management levels
- Develop account plans and growth strategies aligned with customer goals
- Identify upsell and cross‑sell opportunities across automation, power, software, and digital solutions
- Coordinate other teams (engineering, services, product specialists, partners) to deliver customer value
- Manage the full sales cycle within existing accounts: opportunity management, forecasting, proposals, and negotiations
- Ensure high customer satisfaction and long‑term retention
Business Development (±30%)
- Develop new business opportunities within Food & Beverage and Life Sciences markets
- Prospect new customers and projects aligned with our portfolio
- Engage early in customer projects to influence technical and commercial decisions
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer investment plans
- Represent us at customer meetings, industry events, and trade shows
The essential - You will have:
- Experience as an Account Manager, Sales Engineer, or similar commercial role in an industrial environment
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Automation, Industrial Sciences, or equivalent experience
- Fluent English and Dutch
The preferred - You might also have:
- 5+ years of experience with industrial automation and digital solutions, such as:
- Automation & control systems
- Power and electrical systems
- Industrial software (MES, SCADA, analytics, or digitalization)
- Cybersecurity for industrial environments
- Experience working with Food & Beverage and/or Life Sciences customers
- Track record in managing complex, solution‑based sales
- Fluent French
