Context/Scope:

-  Diageo has a solid position as market leader into the growing category of spirits. We want to strengthen our position in various categories, but at the same time we have decided to expand our relevance and continue with our value creation strategy by entering in new proximity opportunities.

-  To properly face these challenges, we must accelerate our commercial capabilities in order to be able to meet customers expectations and achieve our bold business goals.

Financial:

-  Lead the multifunctional team to deliver financial and commercial targets in Convenience in the Centre and South regions of the country, develop relationship with partners and accelerate performance, budget control of the customer and Trade investment tool process.

-  Generate relevant contributions in terms of cash flow for the company.

Market Complexity:

-  The Convenience Channel is being impacted for the expansion and the strong promotional activities implemented by competitors. We can see this impact through the reduction of consumers' traffic in their stores and also in the loss of sales in specific SKUs and regions. Despite this, we continue to focus on new opportunities to keep our portfolio relevant for the clients and consumers though our commercial allies.

-  Our Key competitor has an ambitious strategy based on pricing and margin, which is highly appreciated by our customers. In addition, we are broadening our competitors base, since we are entering to new categories, and we have to be prepared to succeed in this environment.

-  Most of the retailers are reluctant to change and, as consequence, their approach toward suppliers is transactional and based in relationship. Our challenge is to generate amazing relationships with our customers while finding new ways to differentiate them from other channels/customers.

Leadership Responsibilities:

-  Lead multi-functional teams (CMO, Finance, Supply, Marketing) in order to develop, implement and measure all JUBP activities.

-  Become an integrated businessman, responsible for all subjects related to the customers.

-  Capable to inspire others to reach business objectives.

-  Become a strategic partner and preferred supplier for wholesale customers.

-  Align with all CARM processes

Purpose of Role:

-  Develop and/or reinforce current customer relationship

-  Bring value to the customer and to Diageo through efficient, profitable and shopper oriented activities.

-  Enhance Budget in Sell Out activities and implement it within guidelines.

-  Enable operational teams to achieve excellence in execution at POS.

-  Able to analyze information (sales, margins, inventories, pricing, competition, trends, etc.) to generate deep insights and propose solutions.

-  Be a key contributor of Search and Spin within spirits and other industries.

Top 3-5 Accountabilities:

  • Lead the successful implementation of all Activity Map plans and Account Management negotiations, ensuring high-quality execution and alignment with business objectives.
  • Responsibly handle Trade Investment Tool (TI Tool) to accurately register, track, and control all activities accomplished with clients, ensuring delivery on-time and in-full (OTIF).
  • Support Field Sales teams in achieving excellence in point-of-sale (POS) execution through effective negotiation and strategic alignment.
  • Analyze key business data — including sales, margins, inventory levels, pricing, competitive landscape, and market trends — to generate actionable insights and propose short-term solutions that drive performance improvements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to negotiate and implement continuous improvements across key sales drivers, including Out-of-Stocks, Share of Shelf, Share of Displays, Pricing Strategies, and alignment with overall business priorities.
  • Contribute to the in-month sales forecasting process (S&OE), with weekly Sell In and Sell Out updates.

Leadership Responsibilities:

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Coordinate teams across Finance, Supply, Marketing, and Customer Marketing to develop and implement Joint Business Plans (JBPs), identifying key growth opportunities to drive market penetration.

Strategic Partnerships: Build strong and balanced customer relationships, positioning Diageo as the supplier of choice through a comprehensive, customer-focused approach.

Company Policies & Routines: Ensure full compliance with Diageo’s commercial routines, capability programs, certifications, trainings, and company policies.

Qualifications and Experience Required:

  • Communication skills, ability to negotiate internally and externally
  • Analytical, strategic planning, and negotiation skills
  • Skilled in business presentation
  • Confirmed experience working with multifunctional teams.
  • Fully capable in Diageo Way of Selling.
  • Experience working with key accounts (Modern Trade and/or Wholesale customers) in CPG companies (preferred).
  • Understanding of multifunctional interdependencies within Diageo.
  • Handle priorities properly.
  • Basic Financial understanding.
  • Advance English (80%)
  • Proficient Office.
