Job Summary
Holistic & Proactive Program Advising
Manages a caseload of students in an assigned academic pathway, with the goal of understanding and helping students progress through their educational journey to completion.
Proactively communicates with students, providing announcements, weekly updates, information on pop-up visits, etc., to enhance the holistic student experience.
Coaches students to develop academic, career, and financial plans that promote their success.
Provides guidance to students on a range of academic matters, including academic programs, course selection, prerequisites, re-sequenced programs of study, and eligibility.
This advising also covers the evaluation of transfer credit and transfer opportunities, and is available in person, by phone, via email, or virtually, depending on the student's needs.
Coordinates student support and outreach with identified network of care, including Financial Aid Advisors, Student Services staff, and community partners, to assist students having academic difficulties including warnings, probation, and academic dismissal.
Serves as the primary liaison between the advising department and faculty, facilitating curriculum and resource updates (including advising hub), assisting prospective students exploring majors within the designated Pathway, managing "deep dive" content, and coordinating with the Pathways Career liaison on resources and requests.
Academic & Career Coaching
Provides high level academic and career coaching to Pathways students.
Provides individual support, group advising, and coaching for students in assigned caseload on topics related to goal setting, time management, study skills, and other relevant student success topics.
Programming & Student Engagement
Actively plans and/or participates in student centered programming.
Participates in onboarding events for incoming students within assigned pathways. Contributes to the successful orientation of pathways students.
Participates in summer engagement opportunities for returning students.
Administrative
Completes and maintains required documentation, using technology and systems including electronic case management tools, case notes, evaluation, test results, attendance, status reports and other confidential student records to document support provided.
Maintains confidentiality of student files and other sensitive subject matter.
Reviews and interprets advising and related data, identifying trends and assisting the team in developing strategies to improve advising efficiency and quality.
Prepares weekly advising reports for the Pathways Advising Director, Program Manager, and leadership team.

Other Duties and Responsibilities
Attends all required department meetings and training. Participates in other student success initiatives or projects as needed.
Hours may include working outside of a normal workweek schedule, including availability for offset hours as necessary and additional and evenings/weekends on a regular basis to provide service to students, etc.
The Clery Act identifies categories of employees as Campus Security Authorities (CSAs) who have federally mandated responsibilities to report crimes that are reported to them. By virtue of the College responsibilities, this position is a designated CSA and will receive additional training to comply with federal and institutional expectations.
Regular, predictable, and punctual attendance is required.
Minimum Experience and Education required:
Bachelor’s Degree in education, counseling, human services, or related field.
One (1) year of teaching, tutoring, and/or academic support experience in a college environment; can include work done in a graduate assistant role as professional experience.
An appropriate combination of education, training, coursework and experience may qualify a candidate.
WORKING CONDITIONS
This position require to work on second shift and/or split schedule position.
Typical office environment. Regular exposure to moderate noise typical to business offices.
