Overview

Deutsche Bank Securities, Inc. seeks an Associate within the Global Credit & Financing Solutions complex in New York, NY.  This individual will play an integral role in the Lender Finance platform and will contribute to deal selection, execution and interaction with clients and bank syndicate members, support new origination efforts along with portfolio management and collateral monitoring of existing positions. Lender Finance encompasses all corporate credit risk within the ABS franchise, including transactions backed by middle market, broadly syndicated, and venture loan portfolios to well-known US and global asset managers.

What You’ll Do

  • Update marketing materials and develop presentations to assist in marketing ABL lender finance transactions for private debt (credit funds and BDC managers)
  • Draft term sheets and negotiate terms with prospective clients
  • Create Excel borrowing base models for bi-lateral credit facilities
  • Coordinate with external counsel to document new transactions / amendments
  • Liaise with various internal functions to manage deal approval workstreams;
  • Prepare credit memorandums for Credit Risk Management in connection with mandated transactions
  • Present prospective transactions to management for business approval
  • Model financial transactions using Excel for internal risk assessment
  • Assist with syndicating transactions to partner institutions
  • Communicate with clients and syndication bank partners regarding portfolio-related matters
  • Assist with management of the Lender Finance portfolio; review quarterly and monthly servicer reports
  • Monitor portfolio revaluation events / assess risk profile of these investments and make corresponding recommendation to front office and credit risk management team
  • Participate in telephonic discussions with portfolio managers regarding asset approval requests
  • Help with preparation of internal reports for senior management;
  • Stay informed of key trends related to high-risk industries and middle market and loan leverage market developments
  • Work on ad hoc projects as needed

Skills You’ll Need

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Mathematics or related field
  • Proven experience in formal banking or transaction-related experience and/or credit underwriting with a nationally recognized financial institution;
  • Experience with execution and/or underwriting of both cash-flow and asset-based transactions
  • Financial statement analysis
  • Exceptional analytical, quantitative and communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and detailed oriented
  • Flexibility to handle multiple tasks and change priorities
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrate ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States.

Expectations

It is the Bank’s expectation that employees hired into this role will work in the New York, NY office in accordance with the Bank’s hybrid working model.

The salary range for this position in New York City is $140,000 to $170,000. Actual salaries may be based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate’s skill set, experience, education, work location and other qualifications. Posted salary ranges do not include incentive compensation or any other type of remuneration.
