Location: Brisbane Recovery Services – Moonyah, Red Hill Employment Type: Full-Time | Monday–Friday (9am–5pm, flexible arrangements available) Reports To: Centre Manager Classification: SCHADS Level 4

We’re seeking a dedicated Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander professional who’s ready to drive cultural safety, elevate community voice, and transform the experience of First Nations peoples accessing support at the Brisbane Recovery Services Centre (AOD).

If you’re passionate about culture, connection, and creating meaningful change, this role puts you right at the heart of it—supporting participants, guiding staff, and embedding cultural capability across our service every single day.

How You’ll Make an Impact

• Create and deliver powerful, culturally grounded resources, training, and learning experiences.
• Lead Yarning Circles and Learning Circles that honour cultural knowledge and strengthen identity.
• Champion cultural safety through regular environment reviews and practical recommendations.
• Collaborate with the clinical team to ensure case plans reflect cultural needs, strengths, and lived experience.
• Drive localised cultural capability strategies that influence practice across the organisation.
• Managing a small caseload and facilitating groups
• Build strong, respectful partnerships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander organisations to enhance access and support pathways.
• Stay informed on key state and national policies to ensure culturally informed, best-practice service delivery.

What You’ll Bring

• Identification as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person (a genuine occupational requirement under Section 25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991 (QLD)).
• Experience in community engagement or a similar role (highly regarded).
• A strong ability to build trust and engage meaningfully with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, communities, and service providers.
• Deep understanding of the strengths, challenges, and diversity within First Nations communities.
• Confidence in providing culturally informed responses to complex and varied needs.
• The ability to influence, guide, and support leadership in delivering culturally safe, responsive services.
