  • Utilizes advanced performance analysis tools (ST05, SAT, Code Inspector) to diagnose and resolve complex performance issues, including optimizing expensive SQL statements.
  • Acts as a techno-functional consultant, challenging functional requirements if they pose a technical risk and proposing superior alternatives.
  • Champions and drives Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles within the team, focusing on building highly reliable and scalable systems through proactive monitoring, automation, and incident analysis.

Skills

  • Minimum 10+ years of extensive experience in SAP ABAP, with a strong focus on production support in large-scale environments.
  • Demonstrated history of working in mission-critical IT systems within an Agile framework.
  • Previous experience in the banking/financial services industry or with banking-specific solutions is a significant added advantage.

  • Expertise in analysing and resolving complex issues in background jobs, including long-running jobs, resource contention, and sequencing problems.
  • Authority on handling complex data conversion scenarios and resolving critical issues in batch input processing (SM35).
  • Advanced skills in performance tuning, using tools like ST05, SAT, and the Code Inspector to analyse expensive SQL statements, optimize ABAP code, and recommend database-level improvements.
  • Hands-on experience developing and troubleshooting complex Core Data Services (CDS) Views (with associations, annotations) and ABAP Managed Database Procedures (AMDPs).
  • Proficiency with ABAP Development Tools (ADT) in Eclipse and ability to guide the team on modern, efficient ABAP syntax and practices.
  • Experience using the ABAP Test Cockpit (ATC) to enforce code quality and adherence to HANA best practices across the team's deliveries.
  • Ability to design and lead code remediation projects for S/4HANA readiness and performance optimization.
