With 320+ stores and over 24,000 Foodies across Te Ika-a-Maui, our North Island Co-op has the privilege of helping New Zealanders get more out of life.
4 Square has been serving local neighbourhoods for more than 99 years, and we’re proud to continue that legacy through supporting our locally owned stores to thrive.
We are now looking for a 4 Square Regional Trading Partner, based in the upper North Island (Auckland, Waikato, Bay of Plenty), to help accelerate store performance and elevate the customer experience across your region.
Te Tūranga – About the role
As a 4 SquareRegional Trading Partner, you’ll work for Foodstuffs North Island and partner directly with 4 Square store owners to drive sales, trading performance, and commercial excellence.
You’ll be a hands‑on retail strategist - blending practical store know‑how with strong commercial insight - to unlock growth opportunities, improve trading outcomes, and support the delivery of exceptional customer experiences that keep shoppers coming back.
In this role, you will:
· Own the sales, margin, and profitability performance of your region
· Lead initiatives that grow foot traffic, improve conversion, and increase basket size
· Conduct structured store visits with a strong focus on sales uplift, trading execution, and KPI tracking
· Coach store teams to deliver excellence in Fresh Food and Grocery, including shrink reduction and promotional effectiveness
· Analyse performance using SAP, customer metrics, and reporting tools to identify opportunities and guide corrective action
· Ensure consistent delivery of 4 Square brand standards and customer promises
· Identify cost-saving opportunities and unlock operational efficiencies to improve store profitability
· Positively contribute to the 4 Square culture and adapt to an evolving, fast‑paced retail environment
Your region may include 28-30 stores, so travel and occasional overnight stays will be part of how you support your network.
You’ll be provided with tools of trade including a vehicle, laptop, and mobile phone, available for reasonable personal use in line with Foodies policy.
