The Opportunity:
Are you passionate about technical design, 3D modeling, and configuration management? CACI is seeking a detail-oriented Creo CAD Engineer/Drafter to join our team supporting the Conventional Ammunition Division at Picatinny Arsenal, New Jersey. You'll be a key player in modernizing legacy 2D technical data packages into 3D models and managing these files in the division's Windchill environment. If you enjoy creating precise 3D models, developing engineering drawings, and ensuring proper configuration control of technical data, this role offers a unique opportunity to support critical defense programs while advancing your career in engineering design and data management.
Responsibilities:
Convert legacy 2D technical data packages into 3D CAD models using Creo to modernize documentation and improve maintenance efficiency
Create and modify detailed 3D CAD models using Creo to visualize and document engineering designs
Generate new 2D drawings from the newly created 3D models using Creo software
Develop, maintain, and update Creo templates and format files to ensure consistency and compliance with organizational and customer standards
Utilize Windchill for proper storage, versioning, and management of engineering drawings and CAD models
Collaborate with engineers, designers, and project teams to understand requirements and deliver accurate technical documentation
Support engineering analysis, future product improvements, and manufacturing through effective 3D modeling techniques
Maintain data integrity and ensure compliance with engineering standards and quality procedures
Follow established configuration management processes including change control, baseline management, and release procedures
Qualifications:
Required:
U.S. Citizenship
Active Secret Security Clearance, or the ability to obtain one
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering field
Minimum of 3 years' experience in drafting, CAD design, or related technical illustration role
Proficiency creating and maintaining solid models/drawings in Creo
Experience using Windchill PLM/PDM system for configuration management
Experience with engineering drawing standards (ASME Y14.5, GD&T principles)
Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Effective communication skills with ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
Desired:
CAD related professional certifications.
Familiarity with military standards and specifications.
Experience supporting configuration control boards and engineering change processes.
Background in mechanical or systems design.
