Senior Associate, Data Analytics Supply Chain (Amgen External Planning)
The Senior Associate Amgen External Planning (AXP) reports to the Business Performance Manager of Supply Planning at the Amgen India, Hyderabad site. In this role, the Senior Associate will be performing the duties of a Data Analyst supporting daily AXP operations. This role will require a close partnership with Amgen External Supply, Global / Regional / Site Supply Chain, Global Distribution, and Operations Finance.
AXP is a critical component of Amgen’s Global Supply Chain, responsible for enabling reliable, efficient, and agile planning and delivery operations for Amgen’s CMO-sourced products. The Senior Associate, based at Amgen’s Hyderabad site, will be a key member of this team and a foundational contributor to the External Planning work center, supporting the business performance and continuous improvement of planning operations.
Responsibilities:
Supply Planning & Operational Analytics
Develop, calculate, and maintain key activity drivers to support supply planning teams.
Analyze supply plans, demand/supply balances, and planning assumptions to identify risks, trends, and opportunities.
Support scenario analysis and sensitivity analysis related to supply changes.
Identify root causes of supply plan variances and performance gaps.
Metrics, Reporting & Dashboards
Define, calculate, and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for the AXP organization.
Design, build, and maintain dashboards and recurring reports to support operational and leadership reviews.
Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and clarity across all reporting outputs.
Continuously improve reporting tools and metrics based on business needs.
Financial Impact & Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with Finance to translate supply plan variances into financial impact (e.g., cost, inventory, scrap, and revenue)
Support reconciliation of operational and financial views of supply performance
Assist in forecasting, budgeting, and performance tracking activities related to supply planning
Data Analysis & Insights
Analyze large datasets to identify trends, anomalies, and performance drivers
Present insights in a clear, concise manner tailored to different audiences (Planners, Finance, Leadership)
Support ad-hoc analyses and special projects as needed

Basic Qualifications:
Master’s degree and 1-3 years’ experience in Data Analytics, Industrial Engineering, or related business fields
Or
Bachelor’s degree and 3-5 years’ experience in Data Analytics, Industrial Engineering, or related business fields
Or
Associate’s degree and 7-9years’ experience in Data Analytics, Industrial Engineering, or related business fields
In addition to meeting at least one of the above requirements, you must have at least 2 years’ experience working in teams, projects, and programs. This experience may run concurrently with the required technical experience referenced above.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience supporting supply planning, manufacturing, or operations organizations.
Experience translating operational data into financial impact.
Ability to understand complex processes, derive insights, and visualize end-to-end workflows.
Proficiency in tools such as Excel (advanced formulas, pivot tables, data modeling).
Data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, or similar).
Familiarity with ERP or planning systems (e.g., SAP, APO, IBP, Kinaxis, etc.).
Ability to clearly communicate insights to both technical and non-technical audiences.
