Ares is currently searching for self-motivated, detail-oriented, astute individuals to join our summer internship program. We seek individuals with intellectual curiosity, a growth mindset, critical thinking skills, initiative, and financial acumen. Below are the criteria we consider:
Anticipated graduation date between December 2027 and August 2028
Currently enrolled as an undergraduate student, ideally majoring in field related to Finance, Business Administration, or Economics
Have a track record of academic excellence and participation in campus activities
Knowledge of finance and accounting is a plus but not required. We are primarily looking for general aptitude and willingness to learn
Superior oral and written communication skills
Novice to intermediate Microsoft Excel skills
Exceptional attention to detail and proven ability to multi-task
Initiative and a strong entrepreneurial mindset
The ability to research solutions and be a problem solver
Looking to complete a 10-week summer internship
Responsibilities can include:
Understanding and executing the due diligence process
Collaborating with other members of the deal teams
Designing, building and updating integrated financial models using Excel and other tools
Developing and providing investment recommendations and preparing investment committee memos
Understanding industry research, trends and drivers
Conducting market research for investment opportunities in the pipeline
Interfacing with portfolio companies, management teams, third party diligence providers, and other external partners
Fund-level management and reporting
Supporting deal teams with structuring, underwriting and closing equity and debt investments across diverse industries

Ares Commercial Finance (ACF) leverages the scale and flexible capital of the Ares platform to provide innovative asset-based and cash flow solutions to small and middle-market companies, as well as asset-backed facilities to specialty finance companies. Ares is seeking an intern to support the Americas Relationship Management team in marketing the firm’s investment strategies to institutional investors. The role involves managing Salesforce data, preparing customized materials for fundraising roadshows and meetings, and tracking investor activity and preferences. Interns will conduct market and competitor research to identify key prospects and assist with performance reporting through weekly summaries and campaign trackers. They will help organize team workflows by ensuring timely completion of deliverables and maintaining records of client interactions and meetings. Additional responsibilities include preparing regional meeting materials, distributing notes, and contributing to ad hoc projects across the team.
Ares Quantitative Investment Solutions (QIS) is a pioneer in the application of quantitative analytics to private market portfolios. QIS works with some of Ares' largest institutional clients to design and implement portfolio solutions that meet a client's objectives across all asset classes including credit, private equity, private real estate, and infrastructure. The group is a leader in the application of data and analytics to constructing, monitoring and improving private market and multi-asset portfolios, and works closely with multiple teams across the organization. An internship at QIS would benefit a highly curious individual with an interest in learning about quantitative and analytical approaches to solving investment problems. The role is multi-faceted and highly collaborative. The candidate can expect to work on multiple projects and assignments that include data analysis using excel and python, asset allocation and portfolio construction, private fund research, creating presentations, and working closely with multiple teams across the organization.
Ares Management is seeking a detail-oriented and driven intern who thrives in a fast-paced environment to join its Strategic Partnership team in New York, supporting client service and internal operations. The role includes developing marketing and reporting materials, managing CRM systems to track investor interactions, assisting with management of the team’s internal project management workflow system, and helping the team with ad hoc investor requests. Interns will collaborate with cross-functional teams—such as Investor Relations, Legal, and Accounting—and assist in preparing customized client materials, meeting agendas, and briefing memos. This position offers exposure to new technologies and provides a dynamic environment for learning and professional growth. This role is well suited for candidates who take initiative, think critically, and are eager to contribute.
Ares is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented intern to join its Investor Relations & Product Management team, supporting specialists across Credit, Opportunistic Credit & Private Equity, and Real Estate. The role involves assisting with investor communications, preparing presentations, and conducting market and competitor analysis to inform strategic decisions. Interns will contribute to fundraising efforts, support new business development initiatives, and manage transactional data for third-party providers. They will collaborate closely with internal teams, including portfolio management, legal, compliance, and marketing—to ensure seamless information flow and strong cross-functional relationships. Additionally, the intern will help streamline data processes and maintain consistency across all investor-facing materials.
A summer intern in the Corporate Strategy Group will work alongside senior leadership to help evaluate and advance the firm’s most important growth initiatives. The role involves conducting detailed financial and market analysis, building complex financial models, and screening new investment and strategic partnership opportunities. Interns will support the preparation of investment committee materials and board presentations that inform high‑impact decision‑making across the firm. The position also includes analyzing investment performance, maintaining and updating financial models, and monitoring relevant market activity. This internship offers exposure to transformative projects that shape the firm’s long‑term strategy and expand its global capabilities.
