Job Description

What is the opportunity?

As a member of the Global Distribution Product Management team, RBC Global Asset Management (RBC GAM), the Distribution Product Management intern will work closely with colleagues to support GAM’s Institutional and Retail business lines in various business analysis, configuration, system work and projects. This position is open to post-secondary students, including those enrolled in a co-op program. The ideal candidate has an interest in both technology and the investment management industry, is keen, energetic, and willing to learn.

What will you do?

  • Work with Salesforce and other applications and systems, with an understanding of configuration data migration across applications and environments, including validation testing

  • Conduct data analytics, working closely with team members and business stakeholders to understand business needs, processes and data flow to translate them into clearly defined and documented requirements.

  • Populate and verify data for internal databases and assist in internal control processes to ensure consistent, high-quality content is maintained with accuracy and timeliness.

  • Leverage CRM Analytics, data analytics and other visualization tools to generate reports and metrics

  • Respond to recurring and ad hoc requests from internal business stakeholders.

  • Actively participate in standups, sprints and other meetings and ensure assigned tasks are completed on time to support project deliverables

  • Assist with special projects as they arise.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • Proficient in MS Office, including advanced Excel skills

  • Experience in Data Platforms, Queries and Programing Languages

  • Keen attention to detail

  • Ability to manage competing deadlines

  • Ability to work independently and within a team

  • Excellent organizational skills

Nice-to-have

  • Familiarity and experience with Salesforce or other CRMs.

  • Experience with CRM Analytics or other Data Analytics Visualization tools

  • Experience with Jira and applicable work management technology and tools

  • Previous work experience in asset management.

  • Enrolled in an information technology or business program.

  • Be returning back to school after the work term end-date; or 

  • If you are not returning back to school (i.e. are graduating immediately after the work term), you must require the full work term as a mandatory component in order to graduate successfully
