Department Summary

The Product Definition team is the connection between business and R&D. We are a cross-functional team of product managers, project leads and software architects. Our mission is to identify innovative products which push the boundaries of digital diagnostics and serve healthcare professionals. We work in tight collaboration with all parts of the R&D pathway to define innovative solutions and get them delivered.

This internship position is located in Santa Clara, on-site.

The Opportunity

  • Researching and consolidating an overview of the product landscape for Sequencing analysis solutions.

  • Evaluate improvements and their benefits to Roche’s Sequencing portfolio.

  • Creating clear, concise communications around market trends, for a variety of audiences (technical and non-technical, senior leadership, etc.).

  • Work with product teams to drive improvements and innovations

  • Integrate findings and proposals into team materials for onboarding, lessons learned, etc. 

Program Highlights

  • Intensive 12-weeks, full-time (40 hours per week) paid internship.

  • Program start dates are in May/June (Summer).

  • A stipend, based on location, will be provided to help alleviate costs associated with the internship. 

  • Ownership of challenging and impactful business-critical projects.

  • Work with some of the most talented people in the biotechnology industry.

Who You Are

Required Education

You meet one of the following criteria:

  • Must be pursuing a Bachelor's Degree (enrolled student).

  • Must have attained a Bachelor's Degree (not currently enrolled in a graduate program).

  • Must be pursuing a Master's Degree (enrolled student).

Required Majors: Business Administration, Engineering, Marketing. 

Required Skills: 

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Ability to quickly learn unfamiliar areas and to work with a diverse team in a fast-paced environment.

  • The ideal candidate will be a curious self-starter that is entirely capable of generating results within ambiguous environments. 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to quickly produce clearly written, well-organized documentation; excellent presentation and meeting facilitation skills.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Qualifications

  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.

  • Complements our culture and the standards that guide our daily behavior & decisions: Integrity, Courage, and Passion.

  • Familiarity with Google Suite.

Relocation benefits are not available for this job posting. 

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of  California is $24.00-$40.00 hour. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. This position also qualifies for paid holiday time off benefits.
