Raytheon is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer I whose primary responsibilities include supporting manufacturing production in the Cables fabrication value stream for various radar and missile programs on 2nd shift. This position requires close cooperation with the Operations team and other engineering disciplines including Product Design, Test Development and Test Engineering. The desired candidate will possess superb communication skills and be capable to work in a dynamic team environment with minimal supervision.

What You Will Do

  • Interpret manufacturing requirements, develop and maintain Manufacturing Data Packages (MDPs), and document manufacturing processes
  • Support daily manufacturing areas with process troubleshooting and incorporating Engineering changes into the MDPs 
  • Disposition non-conforming material with root cause and correction action analysis as required 
  • Provide real-time technical support to manufacturers and fabricators, in-house as well as the supply base 
  • Generate Change Requests (CRs) on technical issues and as part of Design for Manufacturability (DFM) improvements
  • Drive Continuous Improvements to reduce cycle time, reduce ergonomic risk to assemblers, automate processes, reduce costs (both direct and indirect), and optimize space utilization, and increase production throughput using Six Sigma principles and data driven decision making
  • Tool/fixture selection, development, and implementation

Qualifications You Must Have  

  • Requires a bachelors degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) preferably in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or Industrial Engineering
  • This position requires 12 months or less of professional experience (excluding internships

  • The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance prior to the start date. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Knowledge of Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, or other continuous improvement methodologies
  • Experience with cable fabrication including point to point, branched harnesses, and radio frequency
  • Experience with automated tooling, machinery, and programming
  • Experience with 3D printing and/or CAD
  • Experience performing data analysis and creating Power BI dashboards from multiple data sources
  • Budgeting, presentation, and project management skills
  • Demonstrated success working in a fast paced manufacturing environment 
  • Ability to learn quickly and make decisions independently
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work on a team
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively solve problems and manage projects both individually and as part of a team
  • Defense industry experience
  • Active security clearance

The salary range for this role is 57,200 USD - 108,800 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
