This requisition is for a Raytheon intern that will be converting to FT upon graduation.

Raytheon is seeking an Industrial Engineer I to support program development and production phases primarily within the Effectors portfolio of factories in Tucson, AZ to maximize throughput, improve efficiency, and deliver increasing value to the customer.  Industrial Engineers are responsible for driving improvement with Labor Performance Analyses, Process and Value Stream Mapping, Line Balancing, Capacity Planning, Manpower Planning, Factory Layouts, Factory Simulations, Strategic Planning, Project Management, Lean Manufacturing Principles, and more.  Every day presents new and exciting challenges and reminds us of our mission to deliver to those who defend us. 

What You Will Do:

  • Industrial engineering support working closely with Strategic Business Unit partners, industrial engineers embedded within the factories, various support organizations, and key suppliers
  • Improve cost, quality, and schedule performance, identify strategic investment opportunities, and improve customer satisfaction. 
  • Create factory models using process flows, value stream maps, pareto charts, spaghetti diagrams, and CAD drawings to graphically show manufacturing processes, the movement of material, the exchange of information, and key metrics
  • Analyze manufacturing system performance to identify undesirable effects and opportunities for improvement
  • Apply Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles to calculate capacity, eliminate constraints, improve efficiency, and meet or exceed cost, quality, and on-time delivery goals
  • Contribute to strategic roadmaps focused on factory capacity, Manufacturing Technology insertion, infrastructure improvements, obsolescence mitigation, and the integration of new capabilities

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Bachelor's degree in STEM; preferred majors in Industrial Engineering
  • This position requires 12 months or less of related professional experience (excluding internships)
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Proven mechanical aptitude (ex. Project development, hobbies), and analytical skills
  • Experience or education with CAD modeling
  • Experience or education with drawing interpretation
  • Understanding of Machine Shop practices
  • Strong knowledge of and experience in Microsoft Office tools
  • Strong ability to work in teams and collaborate with peers and internal customers
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills – comfortable working with quantitative and qualitative data
  • Ability to learn new processes quickly and effectively multi-task

The salary range for this role is 55,000 USD - 107,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
