Northrop Grumman is seeking an Associate Vulnerability Engineer/Vulnerability Engineer. This position will be located at our Aeronautics Systems Sector in Melbourne, FL.
The qualified candidate will become part of Northrop Grumman’s Survivability directorate.
The selected candidate will perform analyses at all levels of total system vulnerability to hostile threats, to include ballistic and chem/bio. Additionally, perform modeling and simulation analysis using specific vulnerability tools to determine overall air vehicle Probability of Kill (Pk), and each contributor to the system level Pk.
Other duties include:
Providing design guidance for low ballistic vulnerability design practices.
Identifying potential vulnerability reduction practices, features, and systems.
Assessing the air vehicle for vulnerability to chem/bio contamination and crew protection from a chem/bio event.
Develop, plan, execute, analyze, and report live fire testing activities.
This requisition may be filled at either an Associate Vulnerability Engineer (T01) or Vulnerability Engineer (T02)
Basic Qualifications for an Associate Engineer Vulnerability (T01)
A candidate, regardless of age and hiring source, must meet ALL of the below criteria. The candidate must:
Be completing or has completed their Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution by August 2026.
Be majoring in or having majored in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) degree.
Be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite) as well as Program Special access within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite). Final approved U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite) as well as Program Special Access may be required to start.
Basic Qualifications for an Engineer Vulnerability (T02)
A candidate, regardless of age and hiring source, must meet ALL of the below criteria. The candidate must:
Be completing or has completed their Master’s degree from an accredited institution or is completing their Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution by August 2026 and 2 years of engineering experience
Be majoring in or having majored in list degree majors that are acceptable for position or similar STEM degree.
Be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite) as well as Program Special access within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite). Final approved U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite) as well as Program Special Access may be required to start.
Preferred Qualifications
Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.25/4.0 or higher.
Previous internship/co-op or other work experience, leadership & teamwork capabilities, interpersonal communication skills, and activities (professional/community/extracurricular).
Prior experience with computational electromagnetic (CEM) analysis.
Prior experience with integration and testing of systems.
Pay Range
Associate Engineer Vulnerability: $65,800.00 - $98,800.00
Engineer Vulnerability: $79,300.00 - $118,900.00
