Northrop Grumman is seeking an Associate Engineer Manufacturing or Engineer Manufacturing.  This position will be located at our Aeronautics Systems Sector in Clearfield, Utah. The qualified candidate will become part of Northrop Grumman's Aerostructures Operations organization. 

Essential Functions:

The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for aiding in the design of, optimizing, and supporting the production of composite‑bonded (and fastened) assemblies. Key duties include:

  • Develop, refine, and document manufacturing processes, machining procedures, and material‑handling methods for composite assemblies.

  • Design and evaluate tooling required for integrating composite assemblies into larger structures.

  • Review engineering drawings and GD&T specifications, translating them into reliable manufacturing processes that meet customer requirements.  This includes model interrogation using CAD (NX) and document control via PLM Software.

  • Assess plant layout and recommend optimal placement of support equipment to maximize efficiency and productivity.  Support equipment to include CNC Machining Centers, Autoclaves, Ovens, Automated/Robotic Systems, and others as required.

  • Monitor the performance of processes, machinery, equipment, and tools; conduct inspections, identify deficiencies, and initiate corrective actions to ensure product quality is improved or maintained.

  • Collaborate with the Integrated Production Team (IPT) to provide guidance on design concepts and specification requirements, ensuring effective use of equipment and manufacturing techniques.

This requisition may be filled at either an Associate Engineer Manufacturing or Engineer Manufacturing level.

Basic Qualifications for an Associate Engineer Manufacturing

A candidate, regardless of age and hiring source, must meet ALL of the below criteria. The candidate must:

  • Be completing or has completed their Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution by August 2026

  • Be majoring in or having majored in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering or similar STEM degree

  • Be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite) as well as Program Special access within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite).  Final approved U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite) as well as Program Special Access may be required to start.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.25/4.0 or higher

  • Previous internship/co-op or other work experience, leadership & teamwork capabilities, interpersonal communication skills, and activities (professional/community/extracurricular)

Salary Range

  • Associate Engineer Manufacturing- $59,900 - $89,900

  • Engineer Manufacturing- $72,100 - $108,100
