032709 1st Shift: Forklift Operator (Open)

Job Description:

Key Responsibilities

• Operate lift truck in safe and efficient manner
• Responsible for keeping warehouse areas clean and organized
• Following all plant safety rules, “Halo Rule” wearing proper PPE at all times
• Must be able to solve problems under pressure
• Work overtime as needed
• Be able to identify and segregate non-conforming raw materials prior to use
• Ensure finished product is packaged to customer specification, stored in a safe manner that will prevent damage
• Accurately fill out reports (scrap sheets & maintenance logs) on a daily basis.
• Be able to read engineering sheets, and make suggestions for improvement.
• Perform regular maintenance and preventative maintenance of lift truck using safe practices and procedures
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Support all lines to ensure product is safely and efficiently to keep production lines running and eliminate downtime.

Education and Experience

• Typically possesses a high school diploma (or equivalent).

Knowledge and Skills

• Must have analytical skills to solve problems
• Must have SAFE lift truck training and experience, training must be up to date
• Customer focused; positive attitude
• Attention to detail and numbers oriented to ensure quality
• Well-organized and exercise sound judgment in decision making
• Team player
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Ability to communicate to cross functional team effectively, both verbally and in writing
• Must have good attendance

Compensation Range:

The pay for this position is $20.16 per hour. The position may also be eligible for a short-term incentive.
