Location: New York, NY

Work Arrangement: Hybrid - 3 days/week at Baruch College, 55 Lexington Ave, New York, NY 10010 

Hours: 29 hours/per week

Schedule: 

Monday, Tuesday, & Thursday at Baruch College

  • 8:30am – 2:30pm 

Wednesday –  Remote 

  • 8:30am – 2:30pm 

Friday – Remote 

  • 8:45am – 1:45pm

POSITION OVERVIEW

The 10th Grade Mentor Program Assistant plays a critical role in managing the data and operations for our summer mentor recruitment efforts. Key responsibilities include coordinating interview schedules between SEO staff and applicants, maintaining accurate records of application and interview data, and following up with both new and returning mentor candidates as required. The primary objective is to ensure efficient handling of the high volume of applications and interviews during the summer period.

The ideal candidate is exceptionally organized, a proactive member of the team, and adept at managing multiple tasks simultaneously. A meticulous attention to detail and a strong commitment to delivering high-quality mentorship for underserved high school students are essential. Additionally, the 11th Grade Mentor Program Assistant will lead both in-person and virtual information sessions to enhance recruitment efforts through partner organizations.

Mentor Interview Scheduling and Coordination 

  • Manage the entire process of scheduling interviews for new mentor applicants. Responsibilities include inviting eligible applicants, tracking interview statuses, and sending reminders. 
  • Ensure the interview booking system is accurately set up for each SEO staff member. Regularly confirm with staff interviewers to ensure that interviews are conducted as planned. 

Mentor Application and Interview Data Management 

  • Manage and oversee the tracking systems for new mentor applications using Monday.com. Responsibilities include exporting data from the online mentoring portal, organizing it to analyze applicant trends, and screening for interview eligibility. 
  • Follow up with applicants to correct errors or complete missing onboarding information. 
  • Provide regular updates to the entire mentor team with summaries and trends from application and interview data. 

General Mentor Recruitment & Retention Support 

  • Conduct follow-up communications with attendees of SEO mentoring information sessions, which include collecting email addresses, sending follow-up emails, phone calls, texts, and tracking applicant numbers from partners. 
  • Carry out other related duties as needed to support the mentorship program.

Scholar Deliverables & Compliance 

  • Manage and oversee the tracking systems for new mentee applications using Together.com and Monday.com. 
  • Follow up with scholars to complete deliverables needed to be SEO Mentor Program compliant. 
  • Provide regular updates to the entire mentor team with summaries and trends from application and interview data. 
  • Other tasks as needed related to the Mentor Program 

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • High school diploma required.
  • SEO staff experience preferred.

COMPETENCIES & SKILLS

  • Ability to manage multiple calendars and schedules.
  • Ability to manage complex projects with multiple deadlines.
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills and experience working with databases.
  • Excellent organizational skills, detail orientation, and ability to multitask and handle changing priorities.
  • Superior interpersonal and written/oral communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
  • Ability to travel to sites in Manhattan & Brooklyn.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

This position averages 32-40 hours per week. The compensation listed reflects what SEO believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on the skills, qualifications, and experience of the applicant along with the requirements of the position, and SEO reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time.

This position is benefits ineligible in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations.
