What You’ll Do

The position for Sr. Financial Reporting Specialist  will be based in San Jose, CA and will serve as a  key member of the Accounting Department. The candidate will demonstrate a deep knowledge of financial accounting and provide innovative solutions for process and policy improvement in overall Accounting operations. The main responsibilities include performing a variety of tasks ranging from routine to complex analysis and playing a critical part in accounting operations, such as assisting in monthly book closing, preparing accounting journal entries, reconciliations and various accounting reports and analysis, performing daily/monthly investments and treasury processes, processing invoices, managing open/aged items, assisting in the financial reporting internal control documentation, supporting various process innovation projects, etc.

Reports to:  Senior Manager, Financial Reporting Accounting.

  • Prepare accounting journal entries with sufficient supporting documentation, and verify their accuracy and completeness before closing
  • Assist during the month-end closing processes, including preparing account reconciliations, various accounting reports of financial results and analysis
  • Record daily and monthly investment and treasury activities and collaborate with the relevant teams to ensure that accounting records are complete and accurate
  • Process incoming and outgoing invoices, and coordinate with counterparties to verify payment details and ensure collectability
  • Manage open items, such as accounts receivable, accounts payable, accruals, deposits, intercompany transactions, suspense accounts and payroll accounts by identifying the cause of each aged or open transaction. Collaborate with the responsible department or person-in-charge to understand their processes and seek process improvement opportunities to prevent similar items from appearing on the open items report
  • Assist in the preparation of the financial reporting internal control documentation in compliance with internal control requirements per HQ
  • Support quarterly and annual external audits and perform technical accounting research when necessary
  • Analyze accounting data and interpret statistical information to identify areas of improvements and make suggestions for improvements
  • Continuously apply process improvement methodology and mindset to execute meaningful and measurable improvement to the various existing processes in overall accounting operations
  • Collaborate with the key stakeholders to understand the complexity of current financial reporting and month-end close process, accounting system and internal policy
  • Identify opportunities to streamline accounting workflows and automate repetitive tasks

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree with 0-1 year experience in accounting (large public company experiences desirable)
  • Strong project management/organizational and planning skills; ability to manage multiple projects efficiently and prioritize tasks to meet project deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal, oral, written, and presentation skills
  • A results-oriented team-player with a self-motivated, proactive, and positive can-do attitude
  • Knowledge of SAP or other ERP system is a plus
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel (pivot tables, lookups, etc.).
  • Strong knowledge of Key Business processes (financial close, investments, treasury, order to collect, procure to pay, etc.)
  • Experiences and knowledge of US GAAP or IFRS and Sarbanes-Oxley Act
  • Korean Language proficiency preferred

 

Experience in process automation is a plus

Hourly Base Pay Rate
$80,000$108,000 USD
