The Opportunity:
Sr. Kubernetes/Platform Systems Engineer providing technical leadership for Zero Trust ICAM platform design, Kubernetes architecture, and enterprise container orchestration. The candidate will serve as a senior technical authority responsible for Kubernetes platform strategy, multi-cluster architecture, automation, and secure deployment patterns in regulated environments. The candidate will work with existing ICAM capability teams to automate Kubernetes installation, define near-term and long-term requirements, author design and architecture documentation, perform technology assessments, troubleshoot, and other associated tasks. Other duties include research technical topics and apply it to different improvement areas, author documentation on technical topics including detailing how to use and configure system components & advisory documentation to support ICAM installation & planning.
Responsibilities:
Serve as technical lead for Kubernetes platform engineering, including architecture, lifecycle management, upgrades, & operational resilience
Design & implement multi-cluster Kubernetes architectures supporting high availability, fault tolerance, & geographically distributed service centers
Research & analyze cloud security environments, scalable infrastructures, identifying capability gaps & enhancements for current ICAM services
Lead Helm chart design & governance, including templating standards, versioning strategies, & release management
Implement GitOps-based deployment models & integrate Kubernetes workflows w/ CI/CD pipelines
Provide senior-level troubleshooting & root-cause analysis for complex Kubernetes, container, & platform issues
Qualifications:
Required:
TS/SCI Clearance w/ polygraph
Kubernetes cluster lifecycle management (build, upgrade, patch, decommission)
Helm chart development and maintenance
Infrastructure-as-Code and automation (Terraform, Ansible, scripting)
Secure container platform configuration in regulated or DoD environments
High availability and scalability design across multiple service centers
10 years’ experience as a SE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type and complexity. Bachelor's degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline from an accredited college or university. 5 years of additional SE experience may be substituted for degree
Desired:
Experience acting as a Kubernetes platform architect or lead engineer
Experience mentoring junior engineers & establishing platform best practices
Experience w/ GitOps tools & CI/CD pipeline integration •Infrastructure-as-Code & automation experience
Understanding of scalability & high-availability strategies with deployments across multiple service centers
Experience w/ PKI & certificate-based authentication
Familiarity w/ REST APIs & service-based architectures
Experience supporting systems using Oracle/MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB
Understanding of JSON, XML, Docker, & containerized application patterns
Knowledge of AWS & cloud-based infrastructure concepts
Experience w/ SW development methodologies
Ability to solve complex system/integration problems
Demonstrate engineering experience on programs with requirements, functional analysis, and allocation, conducting system requirement reviews, developing CONOPS & system architectures
Experience implementing Zero Trust principles within Kubernetes environments, including workload identity, certificate-based authentication, and least-privilege access
Experience w/ OAuth2, SAML, & Single Sign-On integrations
Familiarity w/ Zero Trust architecture concepts & ICAM services
Understanding of secure container & platform configuration in regulated environments
Experience collaborating with software developers, test engineers, & system administrators
Ability to lead technical discussions & brief technical & non-technical stakeholders
Experience using JIRA & Confluence

The proposed salary range for this position is:
$113,200 - $237,800
