Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:

If so, the 4-H Youth Development team with Iowa State University Extension and Outreach is seeking applicants for a Youth 4-H Extension Specialist II! This person will work with civic engagement and leadership programs.
What You'll Do:
Lead statewide 4-H civic engagement and leadership programs, collaborating with content specialists to design and deliver educational experiences.
Support planning and implementation of major youth events, including leadership conferences, civic engagement activities, and college and career readiness opportunities.
Assist with program budgeting, resource development, and evaluation to ensure high quality and sustainable programming.
Advise the State 4-H Youth Council and help facilitate youth governance, retreats, and conference planning.
Coordinate statewide initiatives such as recognition programs, national leadership opportunities, Collegiate 4-H, and international exchange activities.
Offer training, resources, and youth development expertise to 4-H staff and volunteers across the state.
Participate in focus teams, workgroups, and professional development to support continuous program improvement.
This position involves in state travel and may include occasional out of state travel, as well as evening and weekend hours.
This is a fixed term position with an end date of 6/30/2027 with the opportunity for renewal.
This position will be classified as a Youth 4H Extension Specialist II.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with developing, implementing, delivering, and evaluating innovative positive youth development programming; preferably with 4-H Youth Development Programs.
Experience training staff and/or volunteers.
Experience planning and coordinating events.
Experience developing and coordinating youth civic engagement and leadership programs.
Experience working with K-12 youth audiences.
