Summary of Position:
The Young Adults Summer Intern will serve as part of Gateway Church, supporting campus Next Steps ministry while developing in leadership, spiritual growth, and hands-on ministry experience. This 8-week internship is designed to equip young adults through intentional mentorship, practical ministry opportunities, and centralized teaching environments.
Under the leadership of the Young Adults team and in partnership with the Campus Next Steps Pastor, the intern will actively serve within campus ministries, support ongoing initiatives, and engage in relational ministry. This role requires a teachable spirit, consistency, and a willingness to serve wherever needed.
Interns will participate in a structured weekly rhythm that includes serving on Sundays, campus engagement on Mondays, and centralized development gatherings on Tuesdays. Additional opportunities include serving at key summer events such as Summer Bash and Youth Conference.
This position is ideal for individuals who are faithful, available, and eager to grow in their leadership, ministry experience, and personal walk with God.
Principal Job Responsibilities:
Serve on a consistent rotation within the assigned campus on Sundays.
Support campus ministry needs alongside the Next Steps Pastor and staff
Build relationships within the church community and engage in relational ministry
Participate in all Tuesday Central gatherings including teaching, team chapel, and team development meetings
Actively engage in leadership development and training environments
Serve and support during key events including Summer Bash and Youth Conference
Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to assist in various ministry areas as needed
Maintain consistent communication with leadership and respond in a timely manner
Represent Gateway Church with professionalism and a servant-hearted attitude
Internship Schedule:
Sunday: Serve at assigned campus
Monday: On-site at campus supporting ministry and Next Steps initiatives
Tuesday: Central gathering for teaching, leadership development, and team building
Additional Time: Kids Summer Bash in June and Youth Conference in July
General Skills & Qualifications:
Must be 18–25 years old and have graduated high school
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Teachable, dependable, and self-motivated
Ability to work well in a team environment
Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced ministry setting
Passion for ministry and serving others
