Yard Worker (Mobile - 12 Month Contract)

You are a Roaming Jobsite Support Staff worker responsible for the daily upkeep and maintenance of material laydown yards across British Columbia. You will ensure that each yard remains a safe, clean, and well-organized space, while also supporting inventory management activities. This role requires daily travel to and from remote job sites.

This is a temporary, full-time position with a 12-month term, with the potential for extension.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Verifies incoming materials
  • Administers inventory control and order selection
  • Oversees opening and closing duties as needed in the Yard as required
  • General site housekeeping
  • Supports with the daily upkeep of the yard including organizing stock and yard maintenance
  • Supports receiving activities
  • Operates forklift and lifts heavy items (up to 40 lbs.)
  • Drives between sites to transport smaller materials as required
  • Builds and maintains relationships with field teams
  • Monitors yard activities ensuring that proper processes are followed

Qualifications:

  • 1-2 years of warehouse or yard experience, preferably in a high-volume environment
  • Experience building relationships across various levels of an organization
  • Proficiency in MS Outlook and Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work autonomously
  • Valid Forklift Operator Certification (required)
  • Successful completion of pre-employment drug & alcohol testing and security clearance
  • 1-2 years of industry experience, preferably in an outdoor/yard environment
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract (required)
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills, with a positive attitude

Work Conditions:

  • This role requires working primarily outdoors in various weather conditions
  • Travel is required up to 100% of the time
  • Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8 hours per day
  • Lodging will be pre-arranged by the travel department
  • A company vehicle and phone will be provided

Compensation

$38,000.00 - $52,250.00

This is the expected base pay range for this role. Individual base pay will be determined based on a variety of factors including experience, knowledge, skills, education and location.
