Xceptor Development Team: Developer

CITY OF LONDON, Full time

About this role:

We are hiring a senior Xceptor Developer responsible for designing, building and maintaining robust automation solutions using the Xceptor platform. The role delivers high-quality, scalable templates and process flows, works closely with business stakeholders to translate complex processes into automated solutions, and drives operational excellence through automation best practices and platform governance. You will join a cross-functional automation team with a remit to reduce manual effort, improve efficiency and accelerate throughput for Wholesale Operations.

Main Tasks, Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Convert business requirements and process maps into detailed technical designs using Xceptor’s core platform, reconciliation engine, workflow and custom dashboards.

  • Build and maintain data mappings, transformation logic and validation rules to ensure data quality and integrity.

  • Design, develop and maintain Xceptor templates, transforms and process flows that extract, validate and enrich structured and unstructured data.

  • Integrate Xceptor workflows with internal systems, databases and RESTful APIs, and handle secure data transfers and file formats including CSV, XML and JSON.

  • Investigate and resolve production incidents, implement root cause fixes and continuous improvements to stability and throughput.

  • Enforce platform governance, coding standards, change control.

  • Contribute to roadmap and release management.

  • Create and maintain clear technical and user documentation.

  • Train business users and mentor more junior Xceptor SMEs and citizen developers.


Required Experience & Skills:

  • Proven, hands-on experience developing complex solutions on the Xceptor platform with a track record of successful end-to-end deployments.---workflow, reconciliations, transformation, dashboards, custom functions

  • Deep understanding of data extraction, parsing, transformation and validation techniques for structured and unstructured data.

  • Strong SQL skills and experience working with relational databases for look-ups, enrichment and reconciliation.

  • Experience integrating with RESTful APIs and familiarity with common file formats (CSV, XML, JSON).

  • Solid analytical skills, attention to detail and experience translating business processes into technical designs.

  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills; comfortable running workshops and presenting to technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Experience working in Agile or iterative delivery teams.


Preferred Experience & Skills:

  • Xceptor certification or formal training from Xceptor.

  • Exposure to citizen development programs or enterprise automation governance frameworks.

  • Scripting experience (Python, PowerShell or similar) for orchestration and automation.

  • Prior experience in financial services, operations is a plus.
