Chime

Workplace Lead

New York City, New York Full Time

About the Role

Chime is hiring a Workplace Experience Lead based in our New York office. This role will be the first Workplace team member in New York and offers a unique opportunity to help open and scale our new 84,000 sq ft office.

At Chime, we believe the office plays an important role in how we collaborate, build culture, and move work forward. In this role, you’ll help bring that belief to life by creating an environment that supports intentional in-office moments, connection across teams, and a shared sense of purpose.

As the Workplace Experience Lead, you’ll own the day-to-day workplace experience and help shape how the office operates over time. You’ll serve as the on-the-ground extension of our broader Workplace team, strengthening connection between the New York office and the overall company, while ensuring the space remains welcoming, functional, and aligned with how teams work.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building from the ground up and navigating ambiguity. You’re comfortable being visible, making thoughtful judgment calls, and balancing hands-on execution with collaboration across teams and regions. This role is expected to be in the office five days a week.

The base salary offered for this role and level of experience will begin at $98,000 and up to $135,000. Full-time employees are also eligible for a bonus, competitive equity package, and benefits. The actual base salary offered may be higher, depending on your location, skills, qualifications, and experience.

In this role, you can expect to:

  • Serve as the in-person, primary point of contact for the New York office, ensuring a consistent, high-quality workplace experience

  • Own day-to-day workplace operations for the NYC office, including facilities repair and maintenance, services, projects, and programs

  • Set strategic direction for space planning, including moves, adds, changes, and long-term space optimization

  • Manage and develop vendor relationships, driving service excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement

  • Oversee workplace budgets, analyze spend, and make data-informed recommendations to improve efficiency and scalability

  • Act as a trusted cross-functional partner, collaborating closely with Culinary, IT, People Experience, Safety & Security, and business leaders to deliver a cohesive in-office experience

  • Lead in-office onboarding in partnership with People teams, creating a welcoming and well-supported experience for new hires

  • Support and execute onsite events and initiatives aligned with company and business priorities

To thrive in this role, you have:

  • 5+ years of experience leading workplace operations, facilities, or office environments, ideally in a high-growth or evolving organization

  • A systems mindset, with the ability to think holistically about how space, people, programs, and operations intersect and identify opportunities to improve and scale

  • Comfort operating as a local team of one, with a strong sense of ownership and sound judgment; you anticipate issues, resolve escalations, and propose thoughtful, scalable solutions

  • Experience owning larger-scale projects or programs and navigating complexity to move work forward

  • The ability to act as a connector and influencer, building trust across teams and representing Workplace through clear communication, follow-through, and partnership

  • A genuine interest in getting to know colleagues and working effectively across different styles and perspectives; you value building strong relationships

  • A high bar for quality and performance, paired with a mindset of continuous improvement

  • Familiarity with tools such as Envoy, Office Space, Google Workspace, and Jira

  • Availability to be onsite five days a week, with flexibility to work occasional early mornings, late evenings, or weekends as needed
