Your opportunity

Join Mission Australia as a Workforce Utilisation and Operational Support Business Partner and play a vital role in making our services stronger, and more impactful through effective workforce planning for the communities we support. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working in cross functional projects, partnering with leaders around the country, solving real operational challenges. Your primary role will involve working with teams to optimise time and attendance rostering, improve workforce scheduling, ensure compliance with enterprise agreements and get the most out of our HR systems like UKG (known as MyTime) and Workday.

In this hands-on role, you will work closely with stakeholders across the organisation to deliver targeted training and support, ticket resolution, resolve workforce scheduling issues, and lead or contribute to projects that improve how we operate. You will help design and implement better scheduling practices, support leaders through change, and drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency, service delivery, and the overall employee experience.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders to understand needs and influence effective workforce practices
  • Lead change management activities to support adoption of new processes, tools, and ways of working
  • Manage and resolve workforce system tickets end‑to‑end, ensuring timely and high-quality customer support
  • Support the transition to centralised rostering and embed consistent practices across services
  • Develop and improve operational processes, procedures, and support resources
  • Monitor risks, compliance, and potential award or rostering breaches, escalating where required
  • Provide reporting, insights, and updates to governance forums and stakeholders on progress and outcomes

Requirements for success

  • Experience in workforce scheduling and rostering within a complex or service-based environment
  • Experience using workforce systems such as MyTime (UKG) and Workday (or similar time & attendance / HRIS platforms)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate operational challenges
  • Ability to build effective relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels
  • Demonstrated experience playing a key role in projects, or formal project management experience delivering initiatives end-to-end
  • Proven ability to lead and support change, including embedding new systems, processes, and ways of working
  • Confident communication skills, with the ability to translate complex information and deliver training or workshops
  • Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities, alongside a proactive and continuous improvement mindset

Before starting work with us, you will need to undertake a national police history check, qualifications, and referee checks, and have a clearance to work with children/vulnerable people.

Your benefits

To ensure our employees feel valued, empowered, and celebrated, we provide a range of employee benefits including:

  • Rewarding work – every day you know you’re making a real difference
