The Impact You’ll Make on this Role
 

The Workforce Relations Manager has accountability for leading the centralized US employee relations function, supporting all US non‑production, non‑plant leaders. The role owns strategy, governance, and execution of workforce relations across businesses and functions, ensuring fair, consistent, and compliant people practices aligned to Solventum’s values. This role enables leaders to perform at their best while minimizing risk, strengthening culture, and improving organizational health.

How you will make an impact

  • Lead the centralized US Workforce Relations function supporting all non‑production, non‑plant leaders.

  • Serve as the senior advisor and escalation point for complex, sensitive, and high‑risk workforce matters.

  • Provide expert guidance on:

  • Employee and labor relations

  • Conflict and behavior management

  • Policy and compliance‑related management issues

  • Crisis and sensitive employee situations

  • Performance management

  • Lead, develop, and coach a team of specialized Workforce Relations advisors

  • Build organizational capability by strengthening leadership effectiveness through guidance, coaching, and knowledge-sharing.

  • Foster a culture of fairness, consistency, and accountability within the Workforce Relations team and across the broader HR organization.

  • Define and implement SLAs, metrics, and performance monitoring for Workforce Relations services.  

  • Use data-driven insights to identify systemic issues, trends, and organizational risks, and translate those insights into actionable recommendations for HR and business leaders.

  • Drive simplification, automation, and continuous improvement of Workforce Relations processes in partnership with other HR Functions.

Your Skills and Expertise 
 

To set you up for success in this role from day one, Solventum requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher and minimum of 5 years of experience managing US employee relations.

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

  • Experience establishing and scaling a centralized ER team,

  • Experience in process design and improvement, including standardization, optimization and automatization of processes.

  • Deep expertise in employee and labor relations, including conflict and behavior management, policy and compliance‑related management issues, crisis and sensitive employee situations and performance management.

  • Experience managing a team

  • Strong leadership skills, including ability to coach and influence leaders at all levels.

  • Highly effective coaching and advising skills with demonstrated active listening and conflict resolution capabilities.

  • Experience operating within a matrixed, modern HR model and partnering closely with HRBPs and COEs.

  • Data and results driven

Work location: Remote – based in Canada

Travel: May include up to 5-10% domestic

Relocation Assistance: May be authorized
