What is the opportunity?
The Workforce Planning Manager will serve as a strategic partner to RBC's Global Functions & Technology division, developing and executing comprehensive workforce capacity plans aligned with the organizational objectives and key performance indicators. This role will provide GFT leadership with data-driven insights to enhance capacity flexibility, identify emerging risks, and optimize resource allocation across the enterprise.
What will you do?
Strategic Leadership & Governance: Support the senior leadership strategy with contributions as a direction and methodology for the analysis, structure, and storage of critical workforce data. Establish and maintain comprehensive policies and procedures to ensure high-quality, efficient data services delivery.
Data Integrity & Monitoring: Oversee the integrity and maintenance of GFT WFM data. Monitor and review GFT strategical activities and performance goals to ensure important data needs are anticipated and met.
Capacity Planning & Analytics: Execute short- and long-term capacity planning initiatives to achieve optimal utilization rates and support operational performance targets. Deliver detailed workforce analytics to support leadership decision-making.
Data Integration & Automation: Streamline actuals reporting through systematic automation of data flows and procedures using established internal tools and methodologies, ensuring consistency across departments. Review and recommend policies and procedures for collecting and managing organizational GFT WFM data.
Systems & Tool Enhancement: Drive continuous improvement of planning tools and infrastructure, including the development of AI-enabled workforce support solutions.
Risk Mitigation & Strategic Insights: Proactively identify capacity risks and recommend mitigation strategies to support enterprise resilience.
Stakeholder Engagement: Build effective and strong relationships with key stakeholders, including executive leadership, by understanding requirements and dynamics across decision makers and influencers.
Team Development: Provide coaching and mentorship to junior and new team members to strengthen organizational capability.
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
Education: Bachelor’s degree in business administration or equivalent post-secondary qualification.
Workforce Planning Expertise: Minimum 5+ years of progressive experience in workforce data analytics, including short- and long-term workforce planning, capacity modeling, and capacity management.
Data Management & SQL: Demonstrated proficiency in managing and optimizing dataflows using SQL in enterprise environments.
Data Transformation & Engineering: Proven experience with data transformation tools and platforms, including SSIS, Databricks, or Python.
Business Intelligence Tools: Advanced proficiency with enterprise reporting and visualization platforms, including Tableau, Power BI, and Visual Studio.
Stakeholder Leadership & Influence: Demonstrated ability to lead complex stakeholder interactions, translate data insights into actionable business recommendations, and influence strategic decision-making through data-driven analysis.
Project Management: Proven track record of successfully leading multi-stakeholder projects in dynamic, fast-paced environments.
Communication & Analytical Storytelling: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to synthesize complex data into compelling narratives for diverse audiences.
Nice-to-have
Computer Science Background: Certificate or degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline.
Process Automation & RPA: Hands-on experience with Robotic Process Automation (RPA) tools, such as Blue Prism, including the design and deployment of automated bots and scheduled task events.
Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning: Working knowledge of AI engines, AI bot development, and machine learning applications, with experience translating these technologies into workforce planning solutions.
Change Management: Experience leading or supporting organizational change initiatives related to process automation or system implementations.
