Workforce Analytics & Insights Intern

This is a remote, home-based internship. Full time students from all US geographies will be considered. Our 2026 Summer internship program is an 8-week Paid Internship that runs from June 1st – July 24th, at 37.5 hours weekly. The program will join interns across the country who are supporting different department focuses on American Cancer Society and ACS's Cancer Action Network. 85% of the time will be in working within the given department, with the Intern's manager, their mentor, and the team. The other 15% will be with a cohort of other interns around American Cancer Society and ACS CAN.

This internship will support the People Team as we continue building and scaling our workforce analytics capabilities. The intern will gain hands-on experience working with people data and learning how workforce insights inform talent strategy, organizational decisions, and People Team priorities.

 

During the summer, the intern will contribute to the implementation of our One Model people analytics platform while supporting foundational data quality and data governance efforts. This includes reviewing, cleaning, validating, and organizing people data across systems to ensure it is accurate, consistent, and ready to support reporting and analysis.

 

The intern will also assist with documentation, basic reporting, and exploratory analysis while partnering with members of the People Team across areas such as talent management and people operations. Through this work, the intern will gain exposure to how organizations use people data to better understand talent trends, workforce dynamics, and opportunities to improve the employee experience.

 

This role is ideal for someone interested in people analytics, HR strategy, or business analytics who enjoys working with data while collaborating across teams to translate insights into meaningful outcomes.

 

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Human Resources, Business Analytics, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Economics, or a related field
  • Strong attention to detail and comfort working with structured data
  • Experience with Excel (sorting, filtering, pivot tables, basic formulas)
  • Ability to follow defined processes and clearly document work
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Curiosity and interest in understanding how data supports business and people decisions
  • Ability to communicate insights and questions clearly in both written and verbal formats
  • Comfort working with confidential information and maintaining data privacy

 

Nice to Have (but not required):

  • Exposure to HR systems (HRIS) or people analytics tools
  • Experience working with datasets or performing basic analysis in coursework or projects
  • Familiarity with data validation, data cleanup, or data quality practices
  • Interest in people analytics, talent strategy, or workforce planning

 

NOTE:

This role sits at the intersection of data and people strategy. Success in this role requires both a strong analytical mindset and the communication skills needed to collaborate effectively within an HR environment. We’re looking for an intern who is curious, thoughtful, and excited to learn how organizations use people data to inform talent and workforce decisions.

Position Requirements:

  • Must be available for entirety of 8-week program: June 1st – July 24th, 2026, at 37.5 hours per week.

  • Full-time student, if you are an undergraduate student, you have completed your freshman year of college.

  • Have a minimum of a B average (cumulative 3.0 on 4.0 scale).

  • Plan to continue your education in the following term/semester.

  • Note: an internship assignment may coincide with your last term/trimester as a full-time student, but the internship must be disengaged upon graduation.

The hourly rate is $16/hour. The final candidate's relevant experience/skills will be considered before an offer is extended. Actual starting pay will vary based on non-discriminatory factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, experience, skills, specialty, and education.
