Position Overview:

Our values reinforce our culture of collaboration, growth mindset, and how we serve our customers. You will support the design and development of medical and non-medical devices, contributing to innovative solutions from concept to testing. Your responsibilities include building, sourcing, and maintaining technical equipment and consumables to enable safe and efficient prototype development. You’ll also maintain a safe, well-organized lab and testing environment, assemble prototypes, and coordinate samples through manufacturing workflows to ensure high-quality outcomes at every stage.

Location: On-Site (Runcorn).

What you will do:

  • Support the creation and execution of application validation protocols across instruments and consumable products.
  • Conduct engineering studies for both external customer tenders and internal sustaining changes to support production release.
  • Oversee waste management, process control, and stock management, ensuring safe handling, storage, and disposal of materials in line with COSHH and biosafety standards.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of SOPs and Risk Assessments to ensure safe and efficient lab operations.
  • Manage the setup and preparation of validation stations, including ordering tissue, instruments, and consumables for testing.
  • Ensure cleaning, calibration, and maintenance of laboratory instruments within the Applications Lab.
  • Participate in Applications Lab audits to maintain quality, safety, and compliance.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Degree in Biomedical Science or related field.
  • Hands-on experience in a clinical or diagnostic laboratory.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent English verbal and written communication, with the ability to train, and present.
  • Strong organizational and documentation abilities.
