The Workday HCM Administrator plays a critical role in the development, configuration, implementation, and ongoing support of the Workday Human Capital Management (HCM) platform. This role requires a deep understanding of Workday functionality, a strong technical aptitude, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver solutions that align with organizational objectives. The Workday HCM Administrator will support the design and optimization of Workday modules, troubleshoot system issues, and support end-users with training and technical assistance. This role will be responsible for the day-to-day administration, maintenance, and support of the organization’s Workday HCM system, ensuring accurate data entry, system functionality, and user support while assisting with the implementation of new features and updates. The Workday HCM Administrator works closely with HR, IT, and other departments to address operational needs and maintain system integrity.

Candidates with combined experience across Benefits, Time Tracking, and Absence will be prioritized

Workday Functional Expertise (Benefits, Time & Absence)

  • Workday Benefits Pro Certification strongly preferred

  • Hands-on configuration experience in Benefits required; Time Tracking and Absence strongly preferred

  • Configure and manage Benefits (plans, eligibility, rates, life events, open enrollment, EOI, passive events)

  • Support Time Tracking (time entry, validations, approvals, and payroll integration)

  • Configure and administer Absence (leave plans, accruals, eligibility, balances)

  • Manage end-to-end business processes across Benefits, Time, and Absence

  • Troubleshoot complex transactions and resolve configuration/data issues

  • Support day-to-day operations and partner with HR, Payroll, and Benefits teams

System Administration:

  • Support the configuration, implementation, and maintenance of Workday functional areas, including Core HCM, Time Tracking, Talent & Performance, Compensation, Absence, Benefits, Security, Learning and Reporting.

  • Optimize business processes and workflows within Workday to improve efficiency and user experience.

  • Conduct system testing for new releases, enhancements, and integrations to ensure system integrity.

Reporting and Analytics:

  • Develop and maintain Workday reports, dashboards, and analytics to support business decision-making.

  • Ensure data accuracy and integrity by creating audit processes and conducting regular reviews.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify reporting needs and deliver actionable insights.

Troubleshooting and Support:

  • Provide tier-2/3 support for Workday-related issues, working closely with end-users to troubleshoot and resolve problems.

  • Partner with the IT team and Workday support to address system errors and ensure timely resolution.

  • Monitor system performance and proactively identify areas for improvement.

Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Work closely with HR, Finance, and other departments to gather requirements, identify solutions, and implement Workday functionality that aligns with organizational goals.

  • Act as the primary liaison between internal teams and external Workday consultants or vendors.

  • Facilitate training sessions and create user guides to ensure staff are proficient in Workday use.

Project Management and Process Improvement:

  • Lead Workday-related projects, from planning and design to execution and post-implementation support.

  • Evaluate existing HR processes and recommend enhancements to align with best practices and system capabilities.

  • Stay up-to-date on Workday updates, features, and trends to leverage new functionality for the organization.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field (or equivalent experience)

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with Workday HCM, including configuration and support

  • Strong experience in Workday Benefits configuration required; experience in Time Tracking and Absence strongly preferred

  • Workday Benefits Pro Certification strongly preferred

  • Proficiency in Workday configuration, reporting, and business process design

  • Experience troubleshooting complex transactions and resolving data/configuration issues

  • Advanced analytical skills and experience working with HR data and reports

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to partner with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

  • Experience leading or supporting Workday implementations, enhancements, or releases
