GEICO is transforming a traditional IT organization into a modern, engineering‑driven technology company—and we’re looking for a Workday Financials Senior Solution Architect to help lead that journey.
In this role, you’ll be the functional architect for Workday Financials—owning end‑to‑end solution design across core Financials and Spend Management. You’ll partner with Finance leaders, product managers, and engineers to translate business needs into secure, scalable, and supportable Workday configurations, integrations, and reporting—while helping shape a culture of engineering excellence, psychological safety, and continuous improvement.

What You’ll Do
As a Functional Solution Architect, you will:
Lead the functional strategy for Workday Financials, starting with the Finance domain and expanding across the enterprise
Translate complex Finance and Accounting requirements into scalable, well‑designed Workday solutions
Provide hands‑on leadership for Workday Financials implementations, enhancements, and integrations
Partner closely with Finance stakeholders, partner teams, product managers, engineers to solve complex business problems
Facilitate and lead design sessions to ensure solutions are efficient, resilient, and aligned with business goals
Apply expertise across ERP platforms (e.g., Workday, PeopleSoft, Oracle, SAP, Hyperion) to introduce best practices and modernize systems
Define and execute a functional transformation roadmap that increases delivery velocity
Own solution quality, performance, scalability, and usability across Finance technology
Mentor and influence engineers and product teams, raising the bar for solution excellence
Act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders and executives, helping shape long‑term vision and direction
Share best practices and continuously improve processes across teams
What You Bring
Key Qualifications (experience may include a combination of the following):
Required
10+ years of Finance domain experience with industry‑leading ERP solutions, including Workday Financials
8+ years designing and architecting Workday Financial implementations
Hands-on experience delivering Workday Financials solutions (implementation and/or large-scale enhancement programs)
Strong Finance and Accounting process knowledge (e.g., GL, period close, AP/AR, management reporting) and the ability to translate it into functional design
Proven ability to lead solution design workshops, document requirements, and drive decisions across complex stakeholder groups
Experience partnering with technical teams on integrations, data mappings, and end-to-end testing to move solutions from concept to production
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including executive-level storytelling and influence
Preferred
Workday Financials certifications and/or deep expertise in one or more areas such as: Order to Cash, Record to Report, Source to Pay, Accounting Center, Supplier Accounts, Expenses, Procurement, Assets, Revenue, Banking & Settlement, or Prism/Reporting
Experience designing for controls and audit readiness (e.g., role-based security, segregation of duties, SOX-aligned control environments)
Experience with enterprise integration patterns (e.g., EIB, Studio, APIs) and finance data platforms (data lake/warehouse, marts)
Prior experience with other ERP ecosystems (e.g., PeopleSoft, Oracle, SAP, Hyperion) and finance transformation modernization efforts
Experience operating in agile product delivery models and collaborating with product management on roadmaps
Proven ability to influence finance transformation, architecture, and product roadmaps
Strong collaboration and communication skills, with experience working directly with business and technology leaders
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance, Accounting, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience

Annual Salary
$105,001.65 - $280,004.40The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/ annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate. Factors include, but are not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, the selected candidate’s work experience, education and training, the work location as well as market and business considerations.
