JOB PURPOSE:
Howard is seeking a highly skilled Workday Financials Senior Analyst to support stability, optimization, and ongoing enhancement of the Workday Financials platform. This role serves as a key post-production resource within Finance Administration, combining deep functional expertise with technical Workday Financials know how, analytical and collaboration skills to ensure accurate financial processing, efficient workflows, and effective system adoption.

This position does not have supervisory authority. Sole contributor.
NATURE AND SCOPE:
This role is responsible for post-production support and optimization initiatives of Workday Financials, with functional coverage across Banking and Settlement, Business Assets, Foundational Data Model (FDM), Projects, and Record-to-Report. The Senior Analyst owns the configuration and maintenance of accounting posting rules, custom validations, financial accounting business processes, and reporting solutions, and works closely with Accounting/Finance stakeholders and cross-functional partners to ensure Workday Financials aligns with accounting, reporting, and operational requirements.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Execute the day-to-day post-production support for Workday Financials, including enhancement and optimization, break/fix resolution, release management, and deployment of new features and functionality.
- Lead functional analysis, design, configuration, testing, and delivery of Workday Financials solutions to support Finance Administration and institutional business needs.
- Maintain and optimize accounting configurations, posting rules, validations, and related business processes to ensure accurate financial transactions and reporting.
- Coordinate and lead system testing activities, including regression testing and user acceptance testing (UAT), to ensure system changes are production-ready and minimally disruptive.
- Provide training and ongoing support to end-users on the effective use of Workday Financials, ensuring users are fully equipped to leverage the platform’s capabilities.
- Lead system testing for new features, configurations, and system upgrades, ensuring seamless transition and minimal disruption to business processes.
- Partner with subject matter experts and cross function teams to document requirements, develop use cases, and facilitate User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
- Collaborate with Finance leadership and team members to support post-production road-mapping, continuous improvement initiatives, and timely delivery of system solutions.

- Demonstrated understanding of process reengineering and the design and implementation of business process workflows, approvals, and reporting enhancements.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- MBA, MIS, or a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, computer science or related field from an accredited University, with at least 5 years of relevant professional experience.
- Workday certification or demonstrated proficiency in at least two Workday Financial Management areas: Banking and Settlement, Business Assets, Expenses, Foundational Data Model (FDM), Projects, Record-to-Report. Candidates who do not currently hold required certification must obtain or demonstrate proficiency within twelve (12) months of employment.
- Experience with Workday’s reporting tools, such as Report Writer.
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain respectful, collaborative working relationships with staff, faculty, students, and stakeholders.
