The Workday Extend Architect/Developer is a strategic technical leader and subject matter expert within the Workday Extend practice. This role focuses on architecting, designing, and delivering innovative solutions using Workday Extend, Orchestrate, and related technologies. Acting as a trusted advisor, the Architect partners closely with client technical leadership and internal functional teams to define application strategies, design scalable architectures, and guide technical decision-making throughout the project lifecycle. While this is primarily an individual contributor role, the Architect influences outcomes through thought leadership, solution design, and collaboration across project teams. Additional responsibilities include supporting sales pursuits through solutioning and estimations, contributing to practice innovation, and serving as a key resource for complex technical challenges.
Responsibilities:
Solution Architecture & Delivery
Lead technical solutioning for complex Extend apps and architecture challenges, ensuring scalability and compliance with Workday standards.
Practice Innovation
Drive technical innovation within the Workday Extend practice by introducing new approaches, tools, and best practices.
Serve as a thought leader for emerging technologies with Workday Extend.
Project Oversight & Risk Management
Provide oversight and guidance to project managers when needed to identify project needs, reduce risk, and develop solutions and strategies.
Promote a team-oriented, challenging, and innovative work environment that drives high client satisfaction levels.
Sales & Pre-Sales Support
Support RFP responses, orals, demos and pursuit processes by providing technical solutioning, scoping, and estimations.
Review Statements of Work (SOWs) for accuracy and alignment with proposed solutions.
Additional Duties & Tasks

Develop custom applications using Workday Extend and integrate them with Workday core functionality.

Review and validate application designs and technical approach to ensure compliance with Workday standards.
Conduct technical design reviews and provide direction on coding standards, error handling, and performance optimization.
Support sales pursuits by reviewing estimates, scoping Extend work, and attending orals and prospect meetings.
Mentor technical resources and promote knowledge sharing within the Extend practice.
Skills & Requirements:
7+ years of Workday technical experience, with at least 4 years in Workday Extend development.
Workday Certifications required: Core Integrations, Extend and Orchestrate.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
Proven ability to work in fast-paced environments, exercise independent judgment, and manage multiple priorities.
Experience in sales engagement, including estimating and presenting to prospects.
Flexibility to travel up to 25%.
Salary and Other Compensation
Applications will be accepted until 03/17/2026 The annual salary for this position is between USD 169,545 - USD 214,425 depending on the experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
