The Workday Absence & Time Tracking Senior Principal Consultant will “bridge the gap” between the business and technical teams by solving complex Workday intersystem problems. They will guide clients through the transformation, implementation, and operation phases of a Workday implementation. This role sits within the Absence, Time Tracking and Scheduling Practice in North America.
Responsibilities:
Be a Workday product expert with knowledge of design, configuration, testing and implementation.
Reinforces company policies and procedures to others.
Drives and makes decisions regarding tactical direction of project workstreams.
Identifies dependencies and supports interplay between different workstreams within a project.
Leads, mentors, and oversees the work of other Consultants within their projects.
Guide the client through facilitated design sessions and configuration decisions based on best practices and an understanding of the client’s unique business requirements at all stages of the project.
Regularly engage and support the client through all phases of the project, ensuring a smooth transfer from legacy systems to the Workday HCM solution.
Perform multiple tasks under limited direction, while regularly keeping the client, your project team and your Engagement Manager abreast of changes or progress related to the project.
Willingness to take a leadership position on a project, or as a Cognizant or Workday product Partner Lead and/or Delivery Assurance Reviewer.
Display your hands-on expertise of the software, including iLoading client data, moving configuration from tenant to tenant, and configuring business processes and security.
Utilize your technical aptitude to convert and map data sources into data conversion templates via iLoads.
Act as a mentor to fellow consultants and analysts, including providing support for shadow assignments.
Actively participate in update training and internal opportunities to share one’s skills and learnings with others within the organization.

Skills & Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
4+ years of Workday Absence & Time Tracking implementation experience required.
Workday Scheduling experience required.
5 years Human Resources, Payroll, or Financial software experience, required.
5 years implementing functional solutions with ERP or SaaS software, required.
Experience gathering business requirements, designing and prototyping, testing, and implementing practical business solutions under multiple deadlines.
Demonstrated functional experience in Human Resources, Payroll, or Financials Management.
Flexible to travel up to 25%.
Salary and Other Compensation
Applications will be accepted until 07/27/2026 The annual salary for this position is between $128,093 - $192,140 depending on the experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
