This position is located at our London, Ontario manufacturing plant and is required to work assigned shift.
Day Shift: 5 openings
Afternoon Shift: 4 openings
Night Shift: 2 openings

POSITION SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for the safe and efficient setup and operation of the packaging production lines per plant production and/or plant operations standards and other duties as assigned. Adheres to company standards in key performance areas of Safety, Quality, and Cost & Delivery to the Customer. This position works in a team environment and is required to assist others as necessary, but must have demonstrated skills as a self-starter and be self-directed personnel in cases of vacation, illness, etc.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Operate production lines in the Packaging Department as assigned by the supervisor.
  • Setting up production filling and packaging equipment, including filling, capping labeling, coding and packaging machines and conveyors in accordance with standard operating procedures (work instructions); and per production schedule and Solenis specifications.
  • Replenishes equipment and machines with required packaging supplies and cleaning equipment parts as required to ensure optimum operating efficiency.
  • Identifies and resolves minor equipment malfunctions by making required adjustments; advises supervisor and/or maintenance department of major malfunctions or breakdowns.
  • Conducts quality line checks, accurately recording data as necessary to ensure product quality in accordance with Diversey specifications.
  • Cleans and sanitizes equipment to meet standard operating procedures and GMP standards in order to prevent product contamination.
  • Train other employees.
  • Conduct multiple audits such as Behavior Based Safety, Gemba, ISO, Production Line Audits and report findings to Production Supervisors.
  • Drive continuous improvement activity using lean tools such as leading root cause investigations, kaizen events and poke yokes.
  • Ensure all safety requirements are met, ie Lock-out-tag-out, proper PPE worn at all times- safety glasses, safety shoes etc.
  • Perform general housekeeping such as cleaning the body of machinery, windows, floors etc.
  • Follow all ISO9001, GMP, and EH&S policies and / or procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Highschool diploma or equivalent. Previous work experience will be considered.
  • 1-3 years of manufacturing experience, chemical experience preferred.
  • Capable of using email, entering data into SAP, Google Docs, and other computer applications.
