Responsibilities & What You’ll Do:
As a Tech & Program Delivery Chapter Type Lead Principal, you have dual responsibilities as both a leader of people and a leader of work.
In the Chapter Type Lead (people leadership) persona, you are a champion of our Tech & Program Delivery cohort, being responsible for:
Leading a team of 6 chapters of approximately 70 members in our Wireless, Fixed & Intelligent Network Automation Tech Delivery Chapter Type
Actively maintaining a tech delivery talent pipeline for the chapter to ensure that workforce strategy objectives are achieved by developing leadership, enhance skills and engagement of our Technical & Program Delivery workforce,
Managing and optimising prioritised resource allocation, including recruitment and/or selection, to ensure capability required is available and resourcing issues are mitigated, in collaboration with Group Owners,
Collaborating with Chapter Area/Type Leads and other Chapter Leads to determine and Drive tech delivery agreed disciplines, best practices and standards (incl. financial disciplines, commercial acumen, ROIC, risks/issues/impediments, dependencies, benefits realisation, and operating leverage) including tools and common practices to be used by Chapter Members
Model a culture of collaboration and continuous learning to support development of domain and interpersonal capability within the Chapter Area,
Coaching and developing Chapter Lead team members to enable them to provide high level people leadership and deliver quality customer and business outcomes, providing support and feedback along the way,
Building strong, trusting relationships within teams that enable a high performing team culture aligned to living our values,
Providing clarity on performance, behavioural goals and expectations to your chapter team to ensure that they can contribute to both mission and chapter activity, along with managing performance, cultural or behavioural related issues as required,
Applying commercial acumen to ensure chapter and resourcing priorities are achieved within allocated budget targets,
Providing clarity to chapter members on current and future capability requirements to enable them to own and drive their development so they can continually grow and add value in different ways,
Using timely feedback conversations to inspire chapter member performance and the achievement of challenging goals
Identifying opportunities to innovate and create new business operations practices/approaches to improve efficiency and effectiveness in the Flow to Work Mission/Program/Initiative persona, you are a trusted leader delivering on GN&T’s and Telstra’s most complex outcomes, being responsible for:
Creating and leading Group Executive level Steering/Governance frameworks to ensure the success of GN&T and Telstra’s Key Results,
Leveraging your influence to create clarity, unblock and drive delivery across the business to deliver E2E outcomes,
Establishing and leading complex technical program/portfolio of work and/or GN&T/Telstra’s most critical Missions in accordance with business priorities and goals, ensuring objectives and key results within contractual requirements,
Defining, establishing and driving assigned portfolio of work against agreed performance and success metrics,
Leveraging expertise and global best practices to provide specialist technical and program delivery coaching, guidance, capability building and support, acting as a trusted advisor and support to Agile and non-Agile business leaders,
Lead financial management of complex cross-GN&T/cross-company Missions/Programs/Portfolios and overall tracking from a financial health perspective including ROIC, benefits realisation, and operating leverage
Directly shape and manage project budgets, resourcing requirements, tools and vendor partnerships,
Proactively identifying interdependencies, risks and issues and implements mitigation strategies to ensure project success,
Proactively identifying and leading continuous improvement initiatives to identify measurable improvements and develop insights to enhance knowledge and capability,

As a senior member of the Tech & Program Delivery Chapter Area leadership team, you’ll drive large-scale impact across GN&T Agile Groups, overseeing six chapters in partnership with key leaders to uplift skills, enhance performance, and drive best practices including ROIC, benefits realisation, and operating leverage. In parallel, in your Flow to Work persona, you are a trusted leader delivering on GN&T’s and Telstra’s most complex outcomes. This role is vital to advancing our GN&T composable ways of working underpinned by TRAM and driving execution leadership within our Telstra Autonomous Networks, Connected Future 30 and NaaP strategies.
About You:

Deep experience and familiarity in technical delivery execution across both agile and traditional methodologies and associated tooling (business case analysis, capital & operational expenditure, ROIC, benefits realisation, cash EBIT),
Deep technical delivery and/or proven engineering experience and thought leadership in one of more technical domains across GN&T/Telstra
