Position Summary:

SPG Wholesale is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Inside Broker to support our high-performing Wholesale Insurance Producers in the Property and Casualty/Energy division. This role is a critical operational and marketing support function — enabling the Producer to focus on business development, broker relationship management, and revenue growth. The ideal candidate is organized, analytically minded, and eager to grow within the wholesale insurance industry.

Key Responsibilities:

Submission & Placement Support:

  • Prepare, organize, and submit applications and underwriting data to carrier markets on behalf of the Producer.

  • Track submissions through the placement cycle; follow up with underwriters for quotes, indications, and outstanding items.

  • Maintain accurate records of accounts, markets approached, quotes received, and bound coverage in agency management systems.

  • Develop and maintain current knowledge of the marketplace and their products

  • Work optimally with the team to ensure sales targets are achieved.

  • Work directly with retailers to ensure the optimal coverage is offered

Producer & Broker Relations Support:

  • Coordinate communications between the Producer, retail brokers/agents, and carrier underwriting contacts.

  • Prepare broker-facing marketing materials, coverage summaries, and proposal documents.

  • Assist the Producer in preparing for agency visits, producer meetings, and renewal strategy conversations.

  • Draft and distribute correspondence, coverage comparisons, and market updates to retail agency partners.

Marketing & Business Development:

  • Support the Producer's prospecting efforts through research, contact list management, and outreach coordination.

  • Assist in the development of marketing campaigns, producer communications, and SPG-branded collateral.

  • Coordinate scheduling and logistics for producer meetings, trade events, and internal presentations.

  • Maintain and update CRM data and producer activity tracking.

Administrative & Operational:

  • Manage the Producer's pipeline documentation, renewal calendars, and account follow-up schedules.

  • Prepare loss run summaries, exposure schedules, and other supporting documentation as needed.

  • Assist with internal reporting, production metrics, and management presentations.

  • Perform other duties as assigned to support division operations.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, insurance, finance, marketing, or related field.

  • 5+ years of experience in insurance, financial services, or a related professional environment.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to draft clear, professional correspondence.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

  • High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities under deadlines.

  • Must be properly licensed.

Preferred:

  • Prior experience in wholesale, surplus lines, or MGA environments.

  • Familiarity with commercial P&C lines including Property, GL, Umbrella/Excess, Auto, and Workers Compensation.

  • Experience with agency management systems or CRM platforms.

  • Existing P&C insurance licensure and/or industry designations (CISR, CIC, CPCU) a plus.

Salary Transparency:

The compensation for this position is a variable comp structure. As such, the total salary paid will vary directly depending on the successful candidate’s book of business at any particular time.  The range for this position is $100,000-$125,000 and could be impacted by factors such as the successful candidate’s skills, experience and working location, as well as the specific position’s business line, scope and level.
