Wetland Delineators

ERM is seeking experienced Wetland Delineators to support large‑scale field programs across the Gulf and West Region. This role is ideal for candidates who excel in intensive fieldwork, lead data collection efforts, and apply rigorous ecological and regulatory methods.

As part of ERM’s Biological Field Services team, you will serve as a lead or co‑lead on wetland and waterbody delineations, maintain high technical standards, and produce defensible data for major infrastructure and permitting projects.  This is a full time (60+ hours per week) limited-term role with a duration of 3 months, extendable.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct wetland delineations following the 1987 Corps Manual and applicable Regional Supplements.
  • Identify and document OHWM, hydrologic indicators, and geomorphic features of waterbodies.
  • Conduct T&E species habitat assessments, evaluating habitat suitability and relevant ecological conditions.
  • Collect and manage field data using submeter GPS and digital data‑collection tools.
  • Contribute to survey documentation, including data forms, field notes, photo logs, and map review.
  • Support report inputs and permit‑related documentation.
  • Work safely as part of a field crew under ERM and client safety protocols.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum two (2) field seasons of wetland delineation experience using the 1987 Manual and Regional Supplements.
  • Familiarity with Arid West and Great Plains Regional Supplements (or other applicable regions).
  • Ability to interpret soils, vegetation, hydrology, NWI maps, aerial imagery, and topographic data for accurate field calls.
  • Experience with submeter GNSS/GPS units and digital field applications.
  • Ability to work long days (60+ hours/week), weekends, and extended rotations in remote or challenging conditions.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills with a focus on high‑quality data collection.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
