Job Description:

Parsons are seeking an experienced Wet Utilities Engineer - Airfield to oversee the execution and coordination of wet utility systems on a major airport airfield and runway development project.

The role involves site supervision, technical coordination, and quality control of potable water, firefighting, stormwater, sewage, and drainage networks, ensuring compliance with project specifications, aviation authority standards, and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will have 8 years of experience in wet utilities works within large-scale infrastructure or airport projects.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Oversee on-site construction activities for wet utilities including potable water, firefighting networks, stormwater drainage, sewage, and irrigation systems.
  • Ensure installation works comply with approved drawings, method statements, and technical specifications.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors and site teams to ensure proper sequencing and timely execution.
  • Coordinate inspections and testing such as pressure testing, leakage testing, flushing, chlorination, and CCTV inspections.
  • Ensure materials, installation, and testing meet project quality standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Support resolution of NCRs and implementation of corrective actions.
  • Coordinate with civil, pavement, MEP, and utility teams to manage interfaces and avoid clashes.
  • Liaise with authorities, consultants, and third-party inspectors for approvals and inspections.
  • Support utility diversions, connections, and tie-ins within active airfield environments.
  • Prepare daily progress reports, inspection records, and test documentation.
  • Support preparation of as-built drawings and system handover documentation.
  • Respond to RFIs and assist with technical clarifications.
  • Ensure wet utilities works comply with approved HSE plans, risk assessments, and method statements.
  • Promote safe working practices, especially in confined spaces and excavations.
  • Ensure compliance with airside safety procedures and permit-to-work systems.

What Required Skills You'll Bring;

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in wet utilities engineering or site supervision.
  • Experience in airport, airfield, runway, or major infrastructure projects is highly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of wet utilities systems including potable water, drainage, sewage, and firefighting networks.
  • Familiarity with relevant standards and codes (AWWA, ASTM, BS, local authority standards).
  • Ability to read and interpret utility drawings, profiles, and details.
  • Proficient in MS Office and technical reporting.
  • Strong coordination and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience working in airside or operational airport environments.
  • Knowledge of utility authority requirements and approval processes.
  • Familiarity with QA/QC documentation, ITPs, and testing procedures.
  • Experience with document control systems such as Aconex or similar.
  • Confined space or safety certifications are an advantage.
