The Wet Lab Technician, is responsible for mixing and delivering electrolyte solutions per the instruction of Scientists on time and performing benchtop experiments on behalf of the Scientists.

Responsibilities

1. Prepare chemical solutions for products and processes following standardized  or experimental formulas

2. Carry out routine tasks accurately and following strict methodologies

3. Maintain and operate standard laboratory equipment, for example conductivity and pH meters

4. Use computers and perform mathematical calculations for the preparation of solutions and basic data analyses

5. Conduct chemical and physical laboratory tests to assist scientists in making qualitative and quantitative analyses

6. Maintain various databases or logbooks

7. Assist in creating formulas, tests, or experimental proposals

8. Assist in data reporting--informal (pictures, spreadsheets, etc.) and formal (reports, rapid communications, etc.)

9. Maintain cleanliness and safety procedures of the lab

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Good knowledge of laboratory environments

  • In-depth laboratory experience in the preparation and testing of materials

  • Good oral and written communication skills – able to clearly summarize experimental findings

  • Computer literate

  • Good knowledge of electrochemical energy storage materials

  • Good knowledge of electrolytes, salts, solvents, and additives

  • Ability to work independently and in multi-disciplinary teams

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Material Sciences, or equivalent work experience required.

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in related role.
