The team you’ll be joining:
Working in the Wells department, the position will be exposed to multiple technical challenges, from onshore to offshore operations, deep, shallow, vertical or horizontal wells, multiple different completion types, etc. The projects can vary from exploratory to development.
The lead engineer will be dealing with very diverse stakeholders, both internal, like subsurface, logistics, supply chain, upper management, etc. and internal, like local regulator, government agencies, service companies or partners for example.
Main responsibilities:
The responsibilities of this role span the full lifecycle of well delivery, from planning and execution to project close-out. The position requires strong technical expertise, proactive risk management, and close coordination with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe, compliant, and cost-effective operations.
Planning Phase
- Lead the full Well Construction planning process, including well design, casing design, risk assessments, budgeting (AFEs), and preparation of drilling, completions, workover, intervention, and P&A programs, ensuring compliance with company standards and local regulations.
- Manage procurement and tendering activities for well operations, including identification of Long Lead Items, preparation of scopes of work, technical and commercial evaluations, award recommendations, and contract holder responsibilities.
Execution Phase
- Provide engineering and operational support to the Drilling Superintendent, ensuring safe, efficient execution of operations with minimal NPT.
- Support drilling and completion operations by ensuring accurate reporting, cost tracking, and data QA/QC in corporate tools, while monitoring HSE and operational KPIs, managing MoC, NCRs, and promoting continuous improvement.
Post Well (Project Close-Out) Phase
- Lead the technical close-out of wells, including preparation of detailed End of Well Reports, incident and performance reviews, and promotion of lessons learned across the organization.
- Ensure proper administrative and knowledge close-out, including invoice reconciliation, material disposition, document archiving, and formal handover to subsequent project phases or operations.

You’ll be a great fit if:
University Degree.
Valid Medical certification.
Minimum 10 years of industry experience, directly involved with drilling and completion operations.
Experience working both onshore and offshore operations with complex logistics.
Knowledge and experience in horizontal drilling.
Strong knowledge of the Landmark well engineering software suite.
Excellent written and oral command of both the Spanish and English languages is essential.
