40Emplify Health by Gundersen Health System is seeking a full-time Wellness Education Specialist to provide Lifestyle Medicine Coaching in our new Lifestyle Medicine Pilot Clinic! In collaboration with internal and external resources, the Wellness Education Specialist is a consultant that develops and maintains programs that promote healthy behavior change and health education, supporting population health initiatives. The Wellness Education Specialist also assists in the coordination of health risk appraisal assessments, conducting health screens and wellness coaching.
What you will do:
Work in a full-time, 1.0 FTE (40 hours/week) salaried role
Primarily will work 8-hour day shifts, Monday through Friday between the hours of 7am - 5:30pm
There may also be some early biometric screening mornings starting as early as 5:30am, mostly in spring and summer. These early starts aren’t regular and will come with earlier end times.
The Wellness Education Specialist assesses, coordinates, implements and evaluates programming relative to designated focus areas to ensure the goals and objectives of the department are accomplished within prescribed time frames and budget parameters.
Provides leadership and advocacy, and serves as a consultant within the organization and community, planning and implementing wellness programming and special events guided by the spirit of collaboration and cooperation.
Engage in day-to-day problem-solving and consultation, education, and leading quality improvement projects
Conducts on-site worksite biometric screening, at times during non-traditional business hours including early morning, including point of care testing throughout the Gundersen service area, maintaining an effective screening process that provides user-friendly results for the employee and meaningful reporting for the employer.

What you need:
Bachelor's Degree in Health Education related field
5-7 years experience as a health educator or related role; demonstrated program planning, implementation and evaluation
Current Infant-Adult Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers (with hands on learning) from one of the following programs; American Heart Association or American Red Cross within three months of hire
Valid Driver's License (DL)
Wellcoaches coaching certification within one year of hire and to take the national board exam within six months after completing Wellcoaches. *Candidates without certification will have this paid for and study-time will be included in work hours*
DESIRED - National Board Certified Health and Wellness Coach certification is preferred. **Candidates without certification may be required or given the opportunity to obtain this certification through Emplify Health after hire, depending on business needs and leadership discretion.**
