About this Position
ChristianaCare is searching for a Part Time, Wellbeing Specialist to provide assistance and coverage for the Care for the Caregiver Peer Support Program. This program provides individual and group support to physicians, nurses, and ancillary staff who experience distress at work following adverse patient events, workplace violence events, and other stress related to the workplace or patient care.
PLEASE NOTE: This is a part time, 20/hr a week position. Please only apply if you are looking for a part time position.
Principal duties and responsibilities:
- Monitor referral channels (phone, email, internal messaging, event reports, etc.) during normal business hours, ensuring timely acknowledgement and follow up.
- Triage cases and coordinate matching of peer supporters with affected caregivers after referrals, ensuring timely response and adequate support, directly picking up cases or triaging to the Wellbeing Psychology Team to meet the demands of incoming referrals for individual and group support.
- Manage cases escalated by peer supporters for referral, providing individualized warm handoffs to EAP and other mental health providers in the community. Serve as a resource liaison by facilitating access to existing behavioral health and wellness resources, developing and maintaining referral relationships with community-based behavioral health providers to decrease barriers to securing timely psychological and psychiatric support as needed. Provide consultative support to caregivers seeking referral to appropriate behavioral health providers, including education about most efficient and effective use of behavioral health resources.
- Provide clear communication and tracking of open cases with Care for the Caregiver Program Manager during hand-off.
- Coordinate and/or provide group psychological first aid and rapid-response support following traumatic events that impact entire units or care teams.
- Provide guidance and supervision to peer supporters navigating difficult cases, stepping in to provide direct peer support in cases in which advanced helping skills are required.
- Raise awareness, by rounding on units, of the second victim phenomenon, secondary traumatic stress, and the availability of the Care for the Caregiver program presenting education to front line leadership and staff.
- Assist in recruiting and onboarding additional peer supporters to match program expansion.
- Assist with data collection and maintaining database.
- Coordinate with CANDOR program, patient safety, risk management, workplace civility taskforce, outpatient SMART team, and HR as needed, identifying novel opportunities to identify caregivers in need of individual or group peer support.
- Assist program management including developing marketing materials, maintaining web-based education, performing budget management and invoicing, and coordinate event planning.
- Collaboratively support additional programs of the Center for WorkLife Wellbeing, as needed (e.g., presentations, Psychological First Aid, Thank You Project, Schwartz and COMPASS, for example).
Education and experience requirements:
- Bachelor’s in psychology, counseling, social services, nursing, or other health-related field required
- Master’s in psychology, social work, counseling or other behavioral health field preferred.
- Experience working in an acute hospital setting preferred.
Hourly Pay Range: $32.77 - $52.43
This pay rate/range represents ChristianaCare’s good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting. The actual salary within this range offered to a successful candidate will depend on individual factors including without limitation skills, relevant experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements.
