About this Program
The Mental Health and Wellbeing Local Service is an integrated wellbeing and support service
delivered through partnership in the Maroondah and Yarra Ranges Shires. Operating six days a
week with extended hours, we provide clinical support, care, and wellbeing services to people
aged 26+ experiencing mental health challenges, including co-occurring substance use or
addiction.
About the Opportunity
This fixed-term opportunity with Wellways places you at the frontline of a welcoming, community-based mental health service in the Yarra Ranges.
Operating since December 2023, the Yarra Ranges Local provides face-to-face support across multiple community locations, alongside outreach, group participation, and community engagement initiatives that strengthen understanding of mental health and wellbeing. This is a designated Consumer Lived Experience role, grounded in lived experience values and the Intentional Peer Support framework. You’ll support people at their first point of contact, assist with intake and waitlist engagement, and offer peer support - including brief interventions and a small caseload of ongoing one-to-one support.
You’ll work alongside individuals experiencing mental health and/or alcohol and other drug challenges, supporting them to identify what matters to them, connect with services of their choosing, and build hope, connection, and self-determination.
