WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Create, review, maintain and provide guidance on welding procedures (WPS), welding specifications and standard operating procedures for each product family.
  • Inspecting weld samples and/or non-destructive test (NDT) to evaluate weld quality.
  • Set up welding qualification tests and keep welder qualifications updated and current as required.
  • Design, develop and implement fixtures for the welding processes.
  • Provide technical guidance and training on welding methods.
  • Ensure welders fully understand and correctly interpret the requirements of drawings and specifications.
  • Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to implement ECN and/or NPI ensuring compliance of all weld requirements in drawings.
  • Work closely with production team and synchro team ensuring successful completion of welding processes in terms of costs and quality.
  • Evaluate welding equipment capabilities and lead capital equipment justification and procurement.
  • Directly troubleshooting welding and quality problems in the floor with material, equipment, wire feeders, etc.
  • ISO Certification.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Welding Engineering, Materials Science, Metallurgical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.
  • 8+ years relevant welding experience.
  • Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) and/or Certified Welding Supervisor (CWS) and other certificates listed via American Welding Society (AWS).
  • Demonstrated expertise and understanding of steel welding for gloveboxes or nuclear confinement.
  • Knowledge of AWS welding requirements.
  • Exhibit a high degree of accuracy, technical rigor, and an uncompromising attention to detail.
  • Proficient in verbal and written English technical communications.
